I've had a quick search, but as per it's been about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

Looking at fitting my old Alpine headunit in the Beeza whilst it's off the road and being repaired.

I want to keep the steering wheel controls, but am a bit confused about the car-side adapter I need.

Have seen different things about them, some descriptions of products seem to say a non-CAN is 2002-, where as others say 2005- are CAN ..

Has anyone actually fitted an aftermarket headunit to a Beeza yet? If so, and you have the steering wheel controls still, where did you get them from, and which one?

It's an 07 plate, so would appreciate even if someone can just tell me if it's CAN or not!!

Ta!

I doubt these are compatible with the facelift models...I fitted my Pioneer hu and the recommended adaptor from caraudiodirect was not compatible :(

I called Connects2 (adaptor manufacturers) who said that there is no adaptor out at this moment in time for the Ibiza's from 2006- :ban:

Bought a Kenwood HU last week for my 57 plate Ibiza, Halfords tried to get me the steering wheel control adapter but found that they haven't been made yet! Looks like I'm gonna have to sacrifice SWC for bass :p

I had the two parts in my old 07 Fr with a brand new alpine headunit and they worked fine.

you bought the parts mentioned above you say? If this is true then I wouldn't understand why all the shops and Connects2 would have told me differently...

If the adaptors do work for Ibiza's from 06 onwards then we'll try make this a "sticky"

Yes im absolutly positive. I checked back on my account with CAD and they are the parts I ordered.

All the SWC worked, I couldn't believe it either :)

Right, I think we should put this to the test just so we can concrete the information.

Dave, if you go ahead and purchase these adaptors from caraudiodirect and tell us if they work or not please mate?

I'm not trying to scam you of your money as they offer your money back as long as you return it in the box within 14 days (which is what I had to do after purchasing the wrong adaptors)

Before I ordered mine I checked with CAD they said if i didnt work I was entitled to a full refund as I was very sceptical that they would work.

NickyJam, Parts are already ordered and dispatched, aim to have it all installed at the weekend.. Got my mate coming round to help me tear the car apart to run the brain into the boot in readiness. I'll let you know when I've had a go!

frenchy, are they easy enough to put in? Not like the Clio where I had to take the whole dash off I hope!!! =D

They are not to bad to take out. Hardest thing is trying to fit all the cables back in as there isnt much room behind the stereo.

Its easier if you take out the tray below the stereo so you can get your hand in to adjust the cables.

That did the trick for me...remove the tray, tidy up the wires, fix the hu into position and then click in the tray below

Nice one Dave, keep us posted mate

I'll be interested in this but not sure whether I'll ever get all the cables in, was a job to fit my Alpine X001 + iPod cable and wires to bluetooth unit all in there, had to swap HU and Tray around and was quite a struggle to get the HU in finally, just no idea if I could ever get steering wheel control cables in too.

My brother and I just stuffed the cables as far back and up and down as could be managed, is there any secret I'm missing here like to the sides as well or something?

Well, I fitted my headunit last night.. Cables are all stuffed behind the glovebox.. I've got an IVA-D310RB, so there's cables running all the way to the back of the car to the vehicle hub.. So far so good!
Going to be a bit of delay with the thing, as dad was out when postie came to deliver the control adapter today picking up my other crash-damage parts!! GUTTED!

Oh well, it's all coming along nicely, can't wait to have my car back on the road with the Alpine!!!

As Dave mentioned, there is only space to the glove box side of the centre console for the wires to be pushed back into. You may need to extend the wires leading to the adaptor boxes to give yourself as much space as possible behind there, but you don't HAVE to put the tray in the top din to fit aftermarket hu's.
