Steering wheel vibration

Hi all,
Had 2 new front tyres fitted today, anyways, take it easy, then give it some beans on the way home up a dual carridge way and whilst accelerating from maybe 60 upwards the wheel starts shaking and vibrating. This never happened before with the old tyres. Anyone got any answers as to what could be causing it?

sounds like the wheels aren't balanced properly mate.

Yeah thats what i thought, i looked at the wheels, and on the driverside one it has weights none stop over half the wheel, and on the opposite side it has 3 or 4, is this normal?

Depends on the wheel - you can't compare one to the other really. Have you checked that the wheel is seated squarely on the hub?

I'd take it back mate, get them to check the balance again.

Will take it back tomorrow i recon. I knew it vibrated before when braking as my discs have warped, but never when accelerating.

i had this when i changed from 17's to i8's. i got them rebalanced and changed the sprigot rings and now it's fine.

Mine did this after the wheels were changed. bad balancing

Yep took it back the next day, and told them, they took both fronts off, and did them again. The woman come back to me and said they were very out of balance thought these machines told you were to put the weights?

Yes they're meant to - relies on the fitter doing what it says correctly though.
