Had a quick search in the r section on this, but couldnt seem to find anything.

Basically, on my lcr, when you reverse, you get a horrid smell. just wondering if anyone else was getting this, or is my car just special........:D

nah, it definately aint the cat. have caught whiff of it a few times and that is def . rotten eggs!.

the smell i get is more like a metalic hot friction smell. Similiar smell you would get if you where using a grindette etc on steel. best i can explain it really. definately a metalic smell though.

could it be the clutch possible? if it was this, would it not do it in first also if it was slipping?

i,m lost.......

nah the car is totaly standard atm.
she drives perfect, apart from, what i believe, a slight bearing noise fromt he front wheels. Dont think they are shagged, just prehaps are not at their best. Its the very feint sort of noise you have to listen hard to hear.

Didn't do anything with it mate....doesn't do it everytime.

I figured that if it was the clutch, I would eventually get round to it, should it become a problem going forward..:drive2:

:headhurt: sort of attitude !

If the problem were to become more than occasional..then I'll investigate !

I would reckon that we aren't the only ones who've had this problem though !

Ive smelt it once when i first got the lcr, i had to reverse back up a ramp in a ncp car park (bumper couldnt manage it). Sure your not just useing a bit too much cluch.

My mum's mondeo smells similar to that when she parks on my drive. (it's a steep incline). It's because she's giving it too much cluch. My LC doesn't do it.
