Strange Rattle

Just wondering if anyone else has had this same problem. Car is make a strange rattling noise at low speeds especially at low speeds and going over damn speed bumps, sounds like a can being dragged underneath the car, checked to see if there was something stuck under car but clear as a bell. Looked round the wheels and noiced a lot of grease around the front right rim could be a drive bot off but dont think it would make this rattle. Any suggestions welcome.

C V Boot possibly ?

Sorry what is a CV boot?

Thats the only reason I could think of with grease round the rim mate.

Its the rubber surround round the cv joint which is the bearing assembly fixed to the drive shaft.Sometimes they come adrift or unclipped at one end spitting the grease out.Sounds like its where your grease is coming from.

They're easy enough to repair.Just needs a tie wrap round it or a proper clip and not forgetting to replace grease in the joint.Car will also make a strange rattle in that area but usually only when you are turning,not over speed bumps.
