Stream music from Iphone 5 via bluetooth

Ok so on my new Ibiza 1.6 TDi FR i have the Portable nav/media unit.

I have successfully paired my iPhone 5 and had music playing through the sound system.

However i am wondering, is there a way of choosing which album/artist/genre i want to play using this method as it just seems to pick tracks randomly at the moment.??

If you are playing over Bluetooth as you state you are, all you can do is skip a track and pause/play audio, the rest is controlled by the application playing the files on your iPhone. Bluetooth is only capable of streaming the audio signal from the application on the phone and issuing simple commands to control the app. In other words, when using Bluetooth streaming, you need to be able to access your phone to select artist/album etc... and the portable system is just used to transfer the Bluetooth signal to the head unit.

No worries. I will just use the iPhone to select which album/artist. Will the skip forward/backwards still work within the ablum i have initially selected on the phone?

It should do, as long as this functionality is implemented in the app you are using to play the music on the phone (most should support this).

Just bene to drop my son off at his karate lesson so thought i would give it a try. It does work like this which i am more than happy with.

Did nearly get wiped out by a Mitsubishi L200 that was turning right as i was turning left ata junction though because he changed his mind and nearly turned left into me. He did hold his hand up apologetically after the event but i still let rip with a few choice words.
