Stripping out mk1 cupra 180

So as the title States stripping out a cupra worth it?
Trying to get a little more from this old car while I save for rods,BT ect ect.
I have the heavy leather interior ATM and binning that for some r front seats in the new year.
Anyone have done this ? Worth it or was the noise too much?

I dropped my back seats there's a bit more noise but not to bad you'll probably need to put some fabric between your boot and where the bk seats where tho

OK so far back seat and back door trim is off. Seat weighed in total at 30kg!! Door panels seatbelt bit and bobs and rear washer mota next time. Spare wheel weight is again 30kg but sort of maybe need that at some point...maybe

Edit: just took her for a drive and no real noticeable different really but on that "private stretch of road" I seem to go down alot... Was going 10mph quicker.
Now weather that was because I pushed harder "I don't think so" or because I could take the corner quicker and overall speed increased I'm not sure but now I'm thinking its time for the dash to go as well Hahaha.

Noise is going up rather quickly after taking the seats and trim from the backdoor out but this is not a family car. Sounds a lot like an old escort mk4 ATM with all the road noise.

What about carpets.roof lineing could always get rid of a door or two depending on how committed you are

Agreed...
Only issue is weight for me is She has a fat heavy ass that likes to pop out in the wet so I've found out.
I looked at gross weight and the cupra weights in less than the cupra r! Thought the R would have been significantly lighter not the other way round.

No idea tbh it all went straight to the tip, its all pretty heavy though

I kind of lightened mine too, it is noisier but not as bad as youd think

Only just see this. Very nice cage you have there.
Have you had it weighed?
I gotta say...the more i remove the more them wheels like spinning
I've removed about 60/70kg so far "including spear wheel here" and removing that much weight already there is a difference. Just need rid of these electric leather front seats/door cards/part dash/air con/exhaust back box and I'm good till next year. .

Thanks, its not been weighed yet but will be when its corner weighted
Another big weight saver is the floor carpet and the sound deadening under it, as this must in excess of 20kg alone
I had all the rear seat mounting structure cut out too which was roughly 15kg however I added nearly 50kg of cage

Yes I'm going to remove the under lay as soon as I swap out the front seat's.
Would be interesting to find out the weight you got it down to -50kg for cage.

I'll stick some up on my day off. Time I go to work its dark and time I get back its dark so no real chance till then. Also I'll take some of after I've removed the carpet/under lay.

Still after a few hint people about my leather interior is up for grabs there are zero takers so I'll bin it. Don't want cash for it...free to good home.
