Have you noticed the black 17 plate 3dr 1.4 150 that Marshall's also have, it's on for 11390?
Also noticed a red 17 plate in Nottingham that is on 10450 from a private seller with randomly a spare set.

There is even a black 3dr on a 17 for 9995 from a private seller. But it's on the Welsh borders so a bit further away. Obviously depends if its worth it to you.

I part ex'd my old 125d for a 67 platecupra 300 at Marshall seat leicester earlier this week. Really nice cars there and the service was really good. Gave me a fair price for the 125d too. Would recommend them.

I think it's all relative with Marshall's. I only say as I bought privately a car they would otherwise have sold for a couple of grand more had it not been for me jumping in before they'd sealed the deal. I'd say they do come across as a good dealer but think I got a better deal and am none the worse for it since the car is so new.
Reason for mentioning the black one from Marshall's by the way is I think it's in Leicester as well and virtually the same price as the grey but newer.

Thanks and deffo agree ended up buying a car today from them but the white 150 with silver 17inch alloys. Feel in love with it straight after the drive. Managed to knock some money off it too, their service was brilliant and couldn’t fault them

Yeh it’s parked up on my drive now. Just got to insure it for the 5th when my free insurance finishes. Weird question tried insuring it online with Hastings already paid my current insurance but still 6months to go but wouldn’t let me change vehicle reg for some reason could it be to with the car sale from my Ibiza and me buying the Leon today?

To be honest that does seem a bit weird. I'd give them a call when they are next open as hopefully they can explain.

See so many Chavs driving the focus ST, it's put me off.

I agree. Little shites ruin everything! Even if you find one owned by a grandmother you'll look like a ******** while driving it so you can't win. Would you wear a shellsuit and a cap turned backwards? If the answer is no, you probably don't want to be driving a fast Ford either.

sorted it out, hastings classed me as high risk so wouldnt switch my number plate over to my current policy so had to take a new quote with them and it would have gone from £600 to £1500, I nearly fainted. Had to cancel my policy (paid annually) and switched to admiral. Annoying thing is I lost my no claims for this year and was half way through too, was highly annoyed but I'm not paying more than double compared to other places.

Ended up been £601 with admiral lol, still dont understand why hastings wouldn't let me switch in the first place if I could be covered elsewhere for less than half the price.

Never try to fathom the ways of the insurer...when you come to renewal or if you fancy checking I use a broker called brentacre who are usually very good. Remember you have your 14 day cooling off period if it turns out they were cheaper if you think it's worth it.

Just saw another Focus with the seal hanging out the bottom of the door! Wasn't an old car either, it was the current model but a private plate.

There’s quite a few insurance companies who’ll set their premium rates for new customers much lower than their rates for renewing customers - so they’re effectively ‘buying in’ the new customers, and the loyal, existing customers are subsidising the new customers’ lower prices.

@Wilkesy; if this was your first year with Hastings, that might be what happened; they charged you a relatively attractive first year premium to get your business, but were looking for a significant increase in premium when you wanted to make a change to your policy. A word of warning - I don’t know if Admiral use the practice of ‘buying in’ new customers, but if they do, they may quote you a significant premium increase when your policy is up for renewal in 12 months time. So be sure not to let your policy auto-renew; shop around for a competitive price!
