Quick question for anyone thats ever removed their front struts from the hub for wahtever reason (fitting coilovers, cv joint repair...)

Is the hub threaded where the strut pinch bolt goes through? I've removed the nut but the bolt remains tight when sticking a nut back on and trying to hammer through, and also when trying to turn the bolt anti-clockwise, it just doesnt want to shift.

If anyone knows, that'd be great.

There isnt a thread in the hub.
Its probably rusted in place, try some penetrating oil or failing that a bit of heat.

also try wiggling the hub while pulling on the bolt, as all the weight is on the bolt if they are even a little bit out of alignment then the bolt will not com eout.

great, thanks for that.

I knew both sides wouldn't be threaded, or it'd never pinch together, but I've been hammering away without joy. Thought one side may have been though. Been applying penetrating oil all through the week.

I've been restricted to messing about during the evening in the dark, i'm sure come morning I'll get it sorted.
