stutter on half throttle

Hi all. Hopefully no one starts a childish thread about me this time lol. When I got the car the engine blew up . So I put a new engine in. Since then the car has had a stutter on half throttle I have tried a lot it diffrent things to fix it. I thought it was a boost leak so bought new boost hoses and fitted them then got a smoke test. It only had two leaks now I have fixed them it still has the stutter . It doesn't do it with gentle throttle or full throttle only on half. The car was previously remapped don't know if that could be the problem

maf/coilpack/map/etc get it on vagcom and see if that throws a code.,

I have had the diognostics done and there are no code been trying to find something on the forum only thing I can find is about a mbc being adjusted to high but not sure what it is

all the above + could be water temp sensor. try driving it with the MAF un pluged (factory default) and see if it's ok then. If so it's the MAF if it still does it then the MAF is prob ok.

Could need a throttle body alignment, did you do that when you changed the engine?

Never done the alignment when engine was changed is it easy to do or would I need someone to do it for me

I unplugged the maf and it is a hundred times better but still there a tiny bit but can hardly notice it compared to before. I thought the em light would come on if maf wasn't working properly.

Forgot to say with the maf unplugged my tcs light is on?

yes when maf is unplugged or faulty it will trigger the TC light.

anytime the throttle body is unplugged its supposed to be done. can be done in seconds with vagcom. very simple procedure. but i think its only the full version tho...

Do you have vag-com? I'm really sooy i forgot the light would come on, you only need to clear the code and plug the MAF back in. But it sounds like you could do with a new one anyway. It might be MAF and TB.
Found this for you.... TB – The throttle on these cars is drive by wire, it is an electronic throttle with a wire attached. Most common TB problem just requires adaptation, or cleaning out with carb cleaner. This procedure shows how to do a TBA. TBA can improve idle, and part throttle operation.

To clean the TB remove it, and spray inside with carb cleaner. Wipe out the residue that gets built up in there. NEVER port a TB on a 1.8T it won’t idle properly.

Don't worry mate the light goes off when its plugged back in . I am getting a bit of smoke on start up and take off but not on full boost. I think the oil seals in the turbo may be leaking would this cause it.

I had a spare throttle body and the sensor next to it so I switched them over and it was still the same apart from the car was idleing at 1000 so I cleaned my old ones and put them back on but still the same anyone know anything else??

it wouldnt change as you would have had to realign the throttle body after it was unplugged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi guys ive recently bought a cupra and after driving it home (150 miles) the car was fine, tried to drive it the other day and it cut out, out of the blue, no stuttering etc, just cut out like it had stalled!! think i need to change a few engine mounts but its weird how it just cut out. any ideas??

Have you checked all your boost pipes . I had same prob when I first got it and it was a boost hose that had popped off

I am now wondering if it may just need remapped . It was mapped before I got it. But I have changed the engine so would it need mapped again cause of engine change

Its a boost leak happened to me yesterday go over all ur joins buddy
