If the MAF is at fault, would it show on VAGCOM?

I've just had mine on there, looks like the MAP sensor is at fault, although would it cause the stuttering?

no sadly. the mafs often die slowly and dont usually get noticed by the ecu until they`ve gone.
you can log the maf with vagcom as you drive, to actually see what its doing. post the results on here and the clever ones can usually tell you if its doing its job

May give the connector a clean tonight see how that goes unfortunate ya have to buy a new one to find out the one off it was fine the whole time....

Sorry to keep digging up an old thread but this ongoing problem with my car is hurting me... So still getting this hesitation on light throttle used to be at 2500rpm now I think I can feel it the whole way up the rev range at various points. Its as if its getting starved of fuel or something. So I have changed MAF, Coils, Spark Plugs, Air Filter, Oil Filter, Fuel Filter, Oil, MAF Connector Treated, Remap and done a Throttle Body align etc with VAG Com. I am now lost and tired of replacing parts that don't need replaced. No faults showing in VAG Com can anyone shed any light on this at all. After spending numerous hours trawling through the search feature it does seem a few people are having this problem with no direct answer to what part is the culprit. Does a Seat dealers computer tell you anything more than VAG Com. Hope someone can help....

Many Thanks,
Ryan.

I also have this hesitation problem, and Im convinced its something to do with the car dumping air, coz when i get the hesitation at slow speed, I can hear the DV woosh. Is it the N249 valve that controls this?? If so, would the bypass thats mentioned on here so much solve the problem??:censored:

humm interesting thought, must have a listen for a dumping noise i may do the bypass anyway see if it helps, its basically free so why not... Anyone think this could be a cause?

Ryan - you will have to listen really carefully to hear it, I can only ever hear it in 1st & 2nd at pull away town speeds. Love to hear if doing the bypass helps mate......

Impulse Sensor... Is this the one on the top of the gearbox. So coming the weekend I am going to try the bypass see how that goes, I have also contacted forge about a service kit for the DV as last night I did convince myself i could hear 'dumping' at the hesitation points not sure though, strange as the car holds boost just fine. Just seems to maybe leak or something low revs. Ran VAG Com again with no avail.

I'm having the exact same problem as the original poster, my car stutters in first and second gear as soon as I let off the throttle to change gear. Also the revs seem to stay high and don't fall as usual. I've cleaned the MAF usin the guide but it hasn't made any difference.

Also, to make things worse, the oil light (red oil can in a circle) flashed at me 3 times. I checked the oil 2 weeks ago and it was fine. After checking it today, I discovered it was reading half way down on the dipstick measurement. I've now topped it up but am concerned as I can't see any obvious oil leaks :(.

And finally, when I turn the car off, there isn't the usual buzzing sound (Is this the engine circulating oil round the turbo?). The noise has just stopped overnight and has stopped at the same time the stuttering has started.

Anybody got any ideas? I will be putting it on VAG com later hopefully.

Thanks, Alex.

I have done the bypass since my last post to no avail. Still no error codes and now gettin like a surging higher up the revs, seems like the car will never be fixed mechanic has no idea either and tired of throwing money at it that isn't needed

Hi mate,

If I knew what the guys at PSI Tuning in Stoke did to fix mine, I'd happily let you know! Took it in for a look and they cleaned sparks, throttle body, etc. and checked all hoses, but couldn't find any problems.

However, the problem was never there after the check-up and - touch wood - I haven't had it since. Good luck in finding the problem, though, mate!

Mate, if you can get yourself over to them, then I can't recommend them highly enough!

They had the car on the ramp for 45 minutes and then took it out for a spin. The chap who was trying to fix it was almost apologetic when I got back that he couldn't find the problem, and was extremely frustrated that he'd gone through everything he could think of, but still hadn't got to the bottom of it.

All they asked for was half an hour's labour, and that was it. Couldn't find a better or more honest group of guys - definitely worth the trip if you can make it!
:)

Humm maybe the problems are slightly different I have replaced all my spark plugs and coild cleaned throttle body new maf good fuel used etc let me know how ya get on

Ryan

I too have a stutter but not identical. Mine only happens under specific circumstances:

Sixth gear - 2000k rpm - foot hard down - turbo spools up and as it feels that you come to full boost @ 2200k rpm there is a very noticeable stutter until 2400k rpm at which point progress continues as normal. The only other thing is a non steady idle, you can't see the needle move but you can hear it fluctuating.

I changed the DV 20k miles ago so that should be fine, hoses seem ok (but then I don't know much!) and I'm planning on changing the filter this weekend, but I can't see that doing much.

The car has never done it before in 5 years and 85k miles but has now suddenly started and does it every time but only under these circustances

Any ideas before I drop it in to a dealership??

Cheers.

right im getting a jolt under high boost really doing my head in and scares me abit as i dont wanna do any damage so ive disconnected the n75 so its not using boost
