Subwoofer help

Hi guys

Have a friend that has bought my old sub off me

Was fully working when I removed it and his was working before he put a pole through the speaker, both the same sub

Connected it up in his car (with the same wiring) but it won't work. Lights come on and it pops a bit when you play with the dials.

If I plug my iPhone directly into it tho it comes on fine but won't through the RCA cables from the stereo

What could it be?

Have tried new RCA cables from stereo to sub to no avail

is it in protection mode by any chance?

You'll know when it lights up the protection led and it basically means its fooked.

oh no lights all come on as they should.

just read somewhere that it might be a grounding issue from the RCA's on the back of the headunit

check all your earths.. if any are on paint scratch the paint away.. also check the remote cable.. try plugging it in somewhere else.. mine had this problem and showed no light...as soon as i moved the remote cable it was fine

If you connected/disconnected the power cables with the rca's plugged in you may well have blown the earth on the casing of the head unit
