Subwoofer Problem

I have an active subwoofer with built in amp and have put it in my Leon, I had it in my old car and have wired it up fine, used a multimeter and the correct connections are comming from the battery and REM.

When I plug the all-in-one socket into the sub it turned on... But I hadn't grounded it yet, then when I make a connection with the ground cable with a the chassis it turns off!

And now it won't turn on at all. Any advice/ideas? Thanks

Has the power cable got an inline fuse mate? if yes check that as will have blown, or check the fuse on the amp as will likely to have blown.

Should have it grounded before you try to run it.

Yeah it's fused but I don't think it's blown neither has the one on the amp, surely if they blew it wouldn't turn on at all? Thanks

That sounds like a grounding issue if its on then off when it wants. Check all the connections both at the sub and the headunit, failing that check the remote wire.

whats the sub so can have looky on the web for it.

is it the Fusion Encounter AT1120 12" Active Subwoofer Tube?

I'd check your remote wire mate, had a problem with my active sub kept turning on and off like it had a mind of its own. Took the head unit out and saw the wire i had spliced into had come out of the chauk block, only a thread or two holding it in. Re-did that and hey presto was working again :) always the most obvious thing
