ok cool. [B)] any info is good info.

reason why i say good manufacturers is when im talkign about these:
http://www.bostonacoustics.com/car/default.aspx
bose
or focals..

they are the higher end of car audio and they tend not to BS so much about their figures.

well boston has never really taken off in the UK or been popular so cant comment on those.

Bose....all highs no lows.

Focal, quality kit at very high prices. A sound quality brand so big power numbers never expected from them as thats not the aim.

urmm. i have to disagree with your comment with bose.

i have 3 sets of bose in my house and the sound quality is superb. and been in an NSX with factory bose and they where completly outstanding.

JL audio are also pretty good.

Thats the amp I have :D

What car is it going into? I ask this as then we can get a rough idea on the strength of your vehicles electrics (alternator, battery size)

The sub is ok, nothing special, what seems to be the falvour of the month at the moment is the ascendant audio stuff. Theres a video of 1 fitted in a polo making the panels flex and the doors trying to open lol.

For best value of money however 2nd hand is the way. Just the other day a guy was selling 2 alpine type r subs for £100.

Wahey! Is it a good amp? and talking about the ascendants, i was looking at this one as well
Chaos 12"

That's IF i can get the money. But dya recommend 2nd hand subs?
P.S cheers for all the help on this, I'd be lost otherwise!

and almost forgot, it'll be your standard 1.2 mk4 ibiza :)

Yeah its a good amp, only quarrels being its massive and the power connections are only capable of accepting 4 gauge at max. Even with the summer heat though and with it pumping the subs hard I havent had any issues of it cutting out due to getting too hot.

Yes the chaos is a really good sub. At the moment ascendant audio and fi audio subs are the most sought after by the SPL enthusiasts on talk audio.

The guy who designed the ascendant audio subs is also the same guy who designes the Fi subs and he also designed the RE Audio subwoofers. He no longer works for RE Audio however as they were bought out and went on to form Fi Audio and Ascendant audio. Personally I would say getting the Chaos would be a worthwhile investment over the vibe sub. The chaos would run lovely off 1200rms daily. Most people who have the same subs as me run theirs double the rated RMS power (1200rms a sub, instead of my 600rms a sub) and they say it performs much better.Tthe guy who designed them seems to make them pretty much indestructible as long as the amp isnt sending out a clipped signal due to the gain settings being to high and the sub distorting.

Also nothing wrong with second hand subs, wouldnt buy from ebay though unless the item was listed by a person off a respectable forum. You can find 2nd hand bargains on the www.talkaudio.co.uk classifieds. Well worth having a look there. Done quite a bit of selling and buying myself on there.

Awesome, cheers for all the info. :D

I gotta post this pic up, there was a www.caraudiocentre.co.uk stand at the british motor show and had a subaru with this in the back (blurry pic sorry :( ) My camera doesn't like dark spaces

4 Kenwood Shallow mount subs, I must admit, the clarity was amazing seeing as the depth of the subs are like 100mm!

Oh yeah I saw that, it was alright but I wasnt overly impressed imo. But then again it did have to fight off all the different background noises.
