Sunroof?

This weekend i am taking a circular saw to my roof to create my own custom sunroof.
Wondering if anyone has attempted this before? The seals etc from an old golf should fit fine.

I have an old customising/modifying book from the 70s that actually gives you a how-to guide on how to do this! Have to have pretty big balls to try it though!

I had one fitted to my Vauxhall Nova MANY years ago. To be fair to the fitter he did a first class job, shame the sunroof ended up having more value than the car!

I would suggest trying it on an other roof first, before trying your own. What happens if you don't get it finished in one day? Drive around with a permanent hole in the roof? Haha.

The OpenAir Polo was by far the coolest hatchback anyone could have back when i was in school. My best mate had one, automatic, and we used to put it in D, with 2 or 3 of us sitting on the roof, driving round at 4am just chilling. It was great fun

Had a sunroof put in my old XR3i... Who remembers them lol. Was good but think they are old skool now with aircon in most cars. Not sure I even like the new whole roof ones ?

I absolutely love cars with a sunroof. This excuse of fitting them with air-con instead isn't good enough for me, I still miss a sunroof!

Had 5 sunroofs so far and they either rust, break or leak lol so I'm
Better without one ..but they do make the interior lighter .
