Decided not to go for the dealer applied supaguard when getting the car. However I would like to seal in the wax (when the weather brightens up a bit)

Are the kits on ebay any good? done a quick search and have found these:

alternatively are there better paint sealers on the market?

thanks

How do you wash your car? if you use a car wash then supagard is a waist of money.
I would steer clear of the stuff if you can.

I never use the carwash for this car (works car is different), wash the car by hand (using car shampoo), then polish with turtlewax. Want to use the supaguard to protect the wax so i don't need to do it so often

any better waxes to use?

AutoGlym Super resin polish followed by AutoGlym Extra gloss protection will give good protection and a great shine.

Work the SRP till is broken down abit and not just caked on white. Apply the EGP thinly and do a couple of layers. Use good applicators and remove using microfiber cloths. All this can be got from Halfords.

If you want to go more advanced and order online check out the detailing section and go for a wax like this. http://www.seriousperformance.co.uk/Products,51,toView_303.html

Use something like this before it http://www.seriousperformance.co.uk/Products,53,toView_364.html

Just do what Donnyboy said. thats the stuff i use. Halfords to it all in a pack.

On a different note.

How much is the arm rest to fit a leon Fr Donnyboy???

it really depends how long you spend cleaning your car. if your a detailing freak then some good waxes like zymol, meguiars or swissol is what you want.

Donnyboy's hit the nail on the head, I am into my detailling and would use something else but for speed and a good result the combo of AG SRP followed by EGP (even better when a couple of layers 24hrs apart) is damn good!

Yep if you want to spend the time detailing mate then there are better ways to go but AG won't do you wrong for what you want!

Good advice too donnyboy, just what the OP was after I feel:)

If your looking not to wax often, just go for Collinite 476, you'll get a minimum of 4 months between the need for reapplication. I did my missus corsa October 06, & didnt wax it again until the Feb 07, & even then it was still beading the water [B)]

It is super hard wearing, leaves a great finish too.

Read About it & buy it here:

I personally find this one slightly better....

http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=402

This website is good for all the detailing stuff but it starts getting a bit addictive!!!

So with the Collinite 476, just wash the car and use this wax and job done?? So if I do every 4 - 6 months it will be ok, or am I better using the Autoglm approach a little more often?

I have candy white FR and use the Collinite wax - tons better and easier to use than anything I've used before and pro's tend to recommend it too. I use the 845 - very similar to above just a liquid rather than hard wax. Incredibly durable and a doddle to use. I use a couple of other bits and bobs too but I would think it'll be fine on it's own after washing and drying.

Right so just wash the car and wax after and job done, any recommendations to the shampoo to use? Do Collinite do a shampoo?

Sorry if sounds really thick just want to be sure,

PS Graham 123 your car looks fine - cant wait for mine :)

I'm flitting between a couple of shampoos at the mo. I had chemical guys maxi suds 2 recommended to me which is really good (smells of marzipan which is wierd) but I think my favourite at the mo is the Zymol - I found out by accident the other week that it actually works better with cold water too - real result 'cos it's stops the missus getting hacked off with me for walking mucky water into the house!!
