E85 is an 85% mixture of ethanol and 15% of normal fuel. without going to technical its more of a US thing because they produce it so much cheaper than anywhere else.

i know 2 uys running E85 on Suburus. They have to uprate seals pipes etc as it eats away at them. Its like using race fuel though

mmmmm so you would defo have an increase in performance. I was looking on the web and if this fuel is so corrosive, why are they selling it on the forecourts? *CONFUSED*

you van use in a small mixture like add 5 ltr to a full tank in that case the mixture is to lean to have an real effect on seals and stuff but the octane will go up by 2 or 3 points.

E85 makes for lower performance. In the sattes I used it in a hire car because it was the cheapest.

my mates suburus are both over 500hp and use E85 as it allows tem to make the power they couldnt achieve with normal forecourt fuel

most guys use E85 as an octane booster for normal vpower. its the hardcore guys that use E85 as the sole fuel

mmm might see if I get 5 litres of the stuff here and mix it with the next tank full and see if there is a noted improvement then.

I still don't get then how they are selling this fuel if it is so detrimental to an engine. I googled it and it seems morrisons sells it. Oh well, I guess it would be best to leave it and trust in the decent stuff.

VW ag cars use a certain style of rubber, this stuff eats away at it, you should never use morissons fuel anyway.

Vauxhalls are E85 approved and you can run it in vxrs i believe.
