A supercharger should in terms be simpler than a turbocharger no? What about the guy on here who supercharged his mk2/mk3 ibiza (cant quiet remember who he is)

Done some research and there is a guy running a 1.4 VAG engine with a eaton/mini cooper s supercharger with 180bhp.

Have you got a link for this supercharged 1.4? Thats sounds very cool, second hand supercharger from a scrappy of a cooper s and might not be such an expensive project. I heard you dont have to strengthen the internals of an engine the same as a turbo when you bolt on a supercharger, more plug and play. Was it the same series of 1.4 as we all have?

You'll have to keep the boost low or you could melt the pistons. Ideally strip the engine and build the internals up to match the supercharger. No offence but just buy a car with a bit more poke. :ban:

Apparently the car is running 180 no probs on stock internals. I will see if I can find the thread.

Oh and mouse, if this is over you budget you could always get around 125hp out of the 1.4 with Lupo GTI bits.

If yours is a 16v (I'm not up to speed on low capacity petrols), then you might want to look at this Club Lupo members car

http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=19153&hl=

Very good build, but it is 19 pages long.

There are numerous Lupos on here, some running TBs etc. By the way, the Lupo GTi is a 1.6 with variable valve timing, so it'd be a bit more of a job than swapping a few bits over to get 125bhp.
