my leon cupra has start make a swirling grinding noise when i brake i took i to the garge today he said he is 75% sure its the abs pump or servo but does not have the equipment to test .Has any one else had a similiar problem please any help welcome

Check your front discs / pads, mine started making a whirring noise under heavy-ish braking when the discs were worn down to minimum thickness (22mm).
A simple check if you haven't got a Micrometer or Vernier Caliper is to put a 1p piece on the worn part of the disc and if sits flush with the lip around the edge of the disc it's at min thickness.

i am taking it to another garge tomorrow he said it sound more machanic then a pump or servo he said it might be the disc i have i have EBC grooved disc on he front and back he said there are not worth the hassle the drilled and grooved as there cause more problems so it could be a cause of new disc and pads i reckon as no warrning light has come on for the ABS i have a hand held scanner for the fault codes.I used the other day and no codes come up for the ABS so i will update tomorrow cheers for the helps lads hope it cheap to fix :)

no the first garage did not chec the pads and disc he just took it for a test drive and it could be the ABS pump or servo so it sound like a job he did not want to take to me
