Brands Hatch done - EPIC.

So drove the car round Brands Hatch tonight and boy did it do well!! Very impressed and made me proud. Really makes all the money and effort worth it:)

Car was very flat through every corner barely any roll, great speed down the straights and I stayed out the whole 20mins pretty much. Oil didn't overheat, got to about 110 degrees and I thought, crap, is it going to start going higher? But no it didn't. I was red lining the car most of the session it just didn't miss a beat did so well.

Brakes are fine, no warping, just gotta warm them up right and cool down correctly..

Really got the bug now for more track action. Only thing was that there was a few AmD tuned Audi S3 tfsi's going around with us tonight and I just couldn't keep up. They were all stage 2+ and above and seriously quick. Really amazed how quick they can enter and exit the corner even without a diff. This has got me thinking again..... My LCR didn't let me down at all and has completely exceeded my expectations of how it was going to perform, BUT do I want more? That is the question... :p

Overall, fantastic afternoon down Brands with the usual crowd and AmD just get better and better in my eyes. Fantastic bunch of people and inviting us down for free track time is one seriously good perk. :D

They had a professional photographer down there who takes pics of their Golf BTCC car (which was there tonight) and I'm hoping he got some of our cars. Fingers crossed over the next few days I can post some up as I'm keen to see some [B)]

Still buzzing right now tbh! Track is a different ball game altogether but it's why we stick anti roll bars on and coilovers, you just have to use the thing properly.

Can't wait to go on track again..

Glad you had a wicked time mate. It's such a great buzz, and it just gets you psyched up wanting more. I'm going again next Wednesday but as a passenger this time in a friend's LCR.

I couldn't make it in the end tonight which was a shame. Something cropped upast minute.

Cheers mate. Yeah total proper buzzing still from the track time! Car did so well just flat in the corners slammed the power down and only the faster S3's etc at stage 2+ would go past me. Also a VW Cup car and AmD's touring car! Lol.

Shame you couldn't make it but I'm sure you'll have fun next Weds.

You coming to the RR day in August?

If its your first time on track don't worry about speed just yet as you will get faster and faster. It's about getting to know your car first. A diff will add a lot more speed into the corners and out...trust me.

I've been on track before and round Brands too just the once though. I was definitely faster this time and gained loads of confidence in the car as the session went on.

A diff will help of course, but I might just want more, and a more modern overall package soon, like an S3. But tonight has really impressed me with how well the old girl did.

Did you track your TDI Maz?

Glad you enjoyed yourself, it is a nice feeling blasting it round
It can be expensive fun though, brakes and tyres dont last long
Although you say about moving on to the new S3 just bare in mind the cost of modding it to a similar level on top buying and the time it would take too

Yeah tyres and brakes will soon go doing that but all good fun and it's what we take into account if we want to do it... Closer the car is to being finished, less spent on mods and more on maintenance and track abuse ;) Lol.

S3 wise, I wouldn't buy a standard one mate. Would be fully stage 2+ or nothing. Not modding a car like this again now. Been fun but I just wouldn't do it again, lol.

The LCR is still a very capable car. Was a fair few other Leon's down there tonight but I'd say none as fast as mine or DK's :p
