Part of the process mate, highs then a few niggles to get you low then back on a high again. I'm sure it will be at it's best asap!

Tom problem 3 is probabley "LIMP MODE" brought on by the Lambda fault

Limp mode is more savage though. When my car was hitting limp mode it wouldn't rev over 3000 rpm. From what Tom is describing it doesn't seem as bad as that

Sounds like limp mode, had this on mine a while ago and no warning lights either

Cheers for the replies! Highs and lows indeed El, have to go through the rough to appreciate the smooth as they say ;)

I'm not sure it's limp mode tbh as the car is revving over 3000rpm. I can't really pinpoint it as there's more than one fault. All I know is it feels like a pig at the moment.

Sometimes the map is there other times not? Really baffling.

Hopefully AmD can fix it all up tomorrow and I can enjoy the 3" TIP and stage 2 as it's meant to be enjoyed..

On another note, I filled up using DIFFERENT petrol for the 1st time since ownership today... :-o

Was in need of fuel badly earlier, but my Shell was shut as the lorry was in there, so went down to Tesco and I stuck in some Momentum 99!!

When i had limp mode i could rev fine but after boosting once limp mode would cut in requiring ignition cycling to reset
You could boost once ok but then this would register the fault after

Not long back from AmD, turns out I have a rather large boost leak! Offside lower connector on my front mount is hissing like a *****!! One of the guys there did a boost leak test infront of me and pointed out the culprit area. Think the other side is a tad loose too.... No wonder it feels standard again, or actually slower than standard :(

Bumper off job to get to the clamps and go over them. Not sure if to get the pipework 'flared' by someone like Hayward & Scott, or just experiment with new clamps of some sort?

So the car didn't go on the rollers, but the 3" TIP and new Forge upper boost hoses are on and looking good in better news!

Until I can get the bumper off and sort this leak issue out, the car is no where near stage 2 performance wise :(

Didn't get the fault lights dealt with today, because I'd rather sort the boost leak 1st and then see what the car brings up after.

This sucks.

Yer get proper clamps **** paying there prices eBay do the t bolt type clamps

Yeah I've got t bolts on there at the moment that come with the cooler, but they've worked there way loose with the higher stage 2 boost.

It's just annoying as it's bumper off..

Tom they should be fine. My car kicks out 1.7 bar and mine are still fine. I did a boost leak test to 2 bar with no leaks. Just do them up tight. Also i re tightend mine a few days after i fitted the cooler.

Yeah will do Sam. They haven't been re-tightened since it went on, so I'm hoping this is all that needs doing. I can't get round to it today I don't think, plus it's chucking it down outside now, but hoping tomorrow to see if I can have a go with the bumper still on.

I'm just going to get the fog light surround plastics out and have a go I think.

Only the connector which goes on the drivers side connecting to the upper boost hose off the charge pipe is flared mate.

That one is most likely to pop off, but I think all of them should be flared. Are the lower one's flared on the Forge fmic?

I know tell me about it! I keep shelling out and it wasn't even fun to drive there or back today. Just crawling along with no real decent boost.. Still, hopefully it'll be sorted soon as possible and I can enjoy the map again.

Saw Maz and Rodger (Slick on here) down there in their TDI's and was having a good chat though, and Poverty turned up in his TTRS! I got a sly picture of it
Not sure what he was down there for, I left a bit earlier.

Everything on the Forge kit is flared mate, i wouldnt trust anything that wasnt?

Do you use a ratchet to do up your Jubilee clips or just a screwdriver? Can get them so much tighter with a ratchet.

The TTRS looks the sex, love that car :p

Tom make sure the pipes and silicone are super clean as any oil or grease will make them slip off. Which pipe has come off. I cant see it being the big 90degree pipe, more likely the small joiner pipe that is beaded.

Ratchet mate, but clearly not tight enough. Unless it's greased or something and worked it's way loose.

It is the big 90 degree one on passenger side mate, but it's not completely off. The boost leak test the guy at AMD did for me was very conclusive. Could hear it over the idle of the car. I think it got worse on the way over there tbh and has just gradually worn it's way loose.

I would take a bit of really rough sand paper or a stanley blade or dremmel or something like that to rough the end of the pipes up to make it grip better

Yeah I'm going to try rough down the ends a bit and see what can be done. Can't have this all the time or will need to get the pipework flared!

Tom my suggestion is rough up the ends of the ally pipes and then use JB weld to make a bit of a bead. Worked for many who have gone custom and not purchased pipes with beaded ends. It is this ponsy popping off business why I made sure to buy beaded end pipes

Cheers for the suggestion mate, I may well have a go to weld a bit of a bead on both of the lower boost pipes.

It is very irritating this popping off business!!
