Hopefully Saturday evening I will have the update for you.

Tom you mentioned an R8 oil cap at AMD today, creation do them for £19. Out of stock at the moment but it's £10 cheaper than awesome GTI.

Link please mate? I want one, but will probably hold off while money goes on other things, lol. I thought the official Audi R8 one was like £49!

Just out on my drive at the moment in the car, fault scanning and changing the locking of the remote.. All doors and boot unlock now on one blip of the remote.

One fault found.....

1 Fault Found:
16517 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B1 S1: Response too Slow
P0133 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

But RS6 I think has cured this fault on his by buying the 02 sensor. So that's next on the list. I tightened up alot of the hosing in the bay recently and I've booted the car alot the past few days where safe to do so, and there are no boost leaks showing on vag-com :)

Just got to order this oxygen sensor now and get that fitted. Might see my mpg go up too. I checked on the ross-tech wiki site and that fault above isn't on there. Seems odd

Must make my fob do that. I always get in the car and start talking to myself forgetting my passenger is still outside lol. You mentioned that sensor to me today, luckily not had that fault yet but seems you may have a way of fixing it. Not impressed at my ABS related faults :(

Have you looked for the code in morks long thread in the vagcom section? I thought my new noise would show up as a boost leak if the tip or dv hose was split, but nothing on the fault scan. Makes me worry a bit  just went for a blast round the town A roads and am even more impressed by the map every time.

ABS faults clear them mate see if they come back. That's what I do with every fault to make sure really.

Nice one on the linky! O2 sensor problems occur when you have a sports cat or aftermarket downpipe fitted mate. You will be ok at the moment being just cat-back.

Have a double check of the hoses and replace what you can, when you can to rule each one out one by one. Tiresome but for peace of mind..

Glad you love the map! :D

I cleared them, scanned again right away and they came back  The creation website lists absolutely everything as out of stock as far as I've checked, so don't trust it lol.

Aye, a tip and hoses will be bought this month (sorry wallet). I found a full set of hoses for £70 (excluding tip) but they were 4 ply polyester not silicon, so probably not worth buying. Creation tip for now I think. Got a big plasma telly to sell on ebay so should make a bit off that to help me through the month!

2 days ago I was saying stage 1 will do me fine, now since I've got it done today and I had a quick ride in yours all I can think about is getting it ready for stage 2 :(

The sensors are faulty then in the ABS setup mate. Sounds defo faulty.

Ha, everything out of stock but I see on your thread you ordered some hoses ;)

Not worth buying stick to silicone mate worth it in long run what's best for the car. Ooh nice plasma funding the car! I've been ebaying alot since I left my job in Jan. Every little helps ;)

:cartman: Cheers I'll take that as a compliment, but sorry mate looks like I'm leading you to spend more... Stage 2 is awesome though I LOVE it. But your stage one went like a train today! Not a massive difference mate. I think stage 2 keeps the boost stronger mid to top end you can feel it pulling harder maybe? Still, yours done really well today and you've got a great lump under the bonnet to work with which is the main thing aswell as it driving really well on the road.

MINI UPDATE:

Played around with vag-com earlier today as you can see. I know what I need to clear my fault code - an o2 sensor that RS6 got for his system as it cleared the lambda fault. Hopefully get that ordered soon and fitted.

Also changed the remote locking of the car on vagcom so all doors and boot now open on one blip of the remote. The gf was getting annoyed everytime she went to get in and couldn't but I could.... and as a result I got annoyed of her moaning so that's sorted now..

And after alot of discussion with a very helpful member (Klone) on here, I reset my throttle body, well about 3 times until I believe it changed the value and re-aligned.... And oh my WORD what a difference it has made! The throttle feels so much more in line with the response of the car almost like having the full control of an N/A car etc.

Mine must have been way out for some time for whatever reason. Battery hasn't been out etc or anything so not sure what would have knocked it out. But the values changed on vagcom from 11% on that left colum to 16% and settled there, so I then come out of it and have literally just driven to my gf's house and it was awesome. Feels much much better!!

Tom - I should have done this last night before I took you out today! Feels better now :D I didn't think it felt that fast earlier...

Nice one Tom :) Is TB alignment something I need to spend some time reading about? Or is it easy to do? I thought yours felt fast ;) My battery has been disconnected quite a few times so may be worth doing.

Will I lose my map if I disconnect battery for too long? Thanks for the car compliments too.

EDIT: Just seen jamjays post - I will read the destructions :D

t0m to confirm is this the guide for us to follow to reset the tb

Procedure for performing a Throttle Body Alignment on DBW Cars using KWP-1281:
(Check to see if the engine speaks KWP-1281 by looking in the top left of the Open Controller Screen Some examples of KWP-1281 engine controllers are 2000+ Golf/GTI/Jetta/New Beetle/Audit TT 1.8T)

Turn the key on but do not start the car.

[Select]
[01 - Engine]
[Measuring Blocks - 08]
Group 060
[Go!]
[Switch to basic settings]
Once you do this you will see the top right display say ADP RUN. The TB adaptation is being done as soon as you switch to basic settings. You will see the values change and hear the TB cycle for the first few seconds then it will stop. Leave it in Basic Settings for about 30 seconds.
[Switch to Meas. Blocks] button and you're all set.

Be sure not to touch the accelerator and make sure the engine is NOT running when you do this!

Sounds good Tom, I unplugged my battery last week and since then my car has a horrible hesitation which I think is the TB being put out of alignment.

How did you do the alignment on Vag-Com? LCR's are KWP1281 aren't they?

http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/throttlebody.html

I'm doing mine tomorrow with a clean up as well.

Yeah that would cause it to feel hesitant on idle. Definitely worth doing a TB alignment now.

I followed Lee's guide buddy:
http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=236219

Have a good read of that. It's fairly simple to do :)

Only if you feel it needs doing or it's never been done mate. It will change the TB value's and may feel smoother afterwards like mine now does. See above reply to Jay for the link to guide I used.

You shouldn't lose your map I wouldn't have thought!

This is my edit on the above mate:

Turn the key on but do not start the car.

[Select]
[01 - Engine]
[Basic settings - 04]
Group, type in 060
[Go!]

- So basically where yours said 'measuring blocks after block 01 - engine, my guide said go straight to 04 basic settings after that 01.

It doesn't mention anything about switching to measuring blocks from basic settings, as in vice versa on your take of it.

It changed the value's as it worked through the steps on mine, and Lee said it is doing it if that occurs, so mine must have been the correct way I think.

But yeah, key in so you get the 4 illumination lights on the dash, but don't go near the accelerator the whole time or start the engine at all! Also turn radio off if on, to save the battery as your doing it. Mine took about 30 secs to go through the stages to count 8 which is where you want it to end up. And then I left it for 2-3mins after and exited. The 1st time I did it, I left it over 5 mins, and in the blocks with the values, it went completely blank... So I got scared and did it again! :)

Nice one mate, good to know how.

Window trick is awesome for a 5min job. Really happy with it.

They are pretty alike now I know :p It's a good alike though! I need to get the 02 sensor ordered up from Awesome soon. Just waiting to see if I'll be buying other bits 1st!

Snap ;) Actually used this a few times today as well! Nice one :)

It's a cool trick bud! Didn't realize it was so easy.
