I hate my clutch and flywheel set up BUT!!
I wouldn't put an OEM part into such a highly specced car.
It really depends on what you want to do with your car and how you plan to drive it.
I didn't want to be limited by an OEM clutch in how I drove.
If you do then go for it.
The Southbend clutch is supposed to be OEM feel but will be linked to a SMF which does give extra noise.
Mine is a Spec stage 1 good for 320 ft-lbs and a Spec SMF, no slip yet with hard lauches, 300 ft-lbs and R888's

Personally Tom I would go with the race helix set up your more than welcome to come test mine in my car I paid 952 quid for the whole kit there rated to 450 bhp , my mate can fit them for 100 quid :)

I'd say Kenny but you cant always talk to him over the phone.

Cool cheers mate. I know if I'm careful the OEM will do. But I really think I'll be tracking the car next year once she's had all the big work done to get her ready. So uprated is probably going to be the route I take.

Tom, stick with the stock clutch but ask AMD to reduce peak boost a little to stay under 300 ft/lb and then the clutch should last a long time. Any idea what your peak boost is.

See above post willy, I'll be going uprated I think for the track use next year. My gauge peaks around 1.7 bar maybe a shade less, could be a solid 1.6 tbh.

Just to let you know mate eurocarparts have a sachs clutch for £160 but this month they have a 30% off all service car parts clutches seem to be included. just bought 1 for £112! Bargain,

Code - service30
Hope this helps

Awesome, cheers for the heads up mate.

I don't think I'll be getting it just now. Funds won't allow me to. But I've been unsure over clutch choices so am asking a few months in advance so I know exactly what I want when it comes to it.

I still have the stock clutch(52k), it just needs to be treated with a little respect, i have had it running up to 330lb/ft and on dyno it only started to slip during normal power output at 360lb/ft + while test the Hybrid V1.

Avoid power launches and you should get more use out of it.I did slip intially after remapping, i just changed my driving style to suit.I will happily push the stock clutch to 330lb/ft.

Have you tracked your car before Robbie? This is the key issue here for me. Track use.

Around town and just taking it easy I'm very kind to the clutch and the car in general. Warm her up, cool her down etc etc.. I can make the clutch in there last a while yet, but I really don't know about the OEM clutch on trackdays. I won't turn up just to ponce along, I will want to push the car a little bit..

I went with a standard replacement clutch and mines been fine. Just dont go racing off the lights every 5mins and you will be ok. You know what power im running!

Indeed, this is true mate. But when do you drive your car these days?! Lol just playing. Not seen you do much to yours in a while mate. I want you to sort it out, lol.

Yeah that's the only thing I don't want Willie - SMF noise. The clatter will drive me mad. I'm very tedious with things like that. I love the spec of yours, cheers for the input mate appreciate it.

Am thinking uprated for trackday use future proof-ness? If there's such a word

im running the sach clutch with a dmf, its a bit noisy, with the clutch depressed but can launch with wotbox with no problems,
i paid 600 for my clutch when i brought mine as part of a group buy about 10 minths ago :)

this is what i have

Decent price there Paul.. nice.

Is the Sachs clutch the organic one? Cheers for the links bud. I didn't think DMF would be too noisey? But more feedback from you guys the better please as I've never experienced one. Just assume from what I've read on here.

Cheers Dan. Might take you up on that offer one day mate. I'll do the remote windows for you in return ;)

Not a bad all in price for a 450bhp clutch! My car will never ever reach that lol.

Alcon do a ceramic clutch for the LCR its what they use in the race cars not sure on price tho? http://www.alcon.co.uk/:confused:

Hmm, nice to see another thrown in the mix.

How do you think this will fair on noise though?

No worrys drop me a pm my cars going in the body shop soon so it depends how much of a rush your in the clutch is awesome slight chatter but you get used to it

i been told its noisy as if look at friction plate its not got dampening springs so is noisy without clutch slightly depressed, also been told its organic yes

how do you do the remote windows?

Organic may the route I take.. Just don't want it noisey tbh when the time comes to change.

Remote windows I used this post: http://seatcupra.net/forums/showpost.php?p=3435336&postcount=329

..from this guide: http://seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=115352

It's Motordiag Komfort software you use to code the windows. It works with the standard vagcom cable you'd use to connect to the OBD port. :)

Will be a while yet mate but cheers will take you up on it nearer the time. I don't have the clutch money even free'd up yet, lol.

It's how slight the chatter is I'm curious to hear as I've not experienced an LCR with an uprated clutch before.

My friends' REVO stage 2 LCR recently had the clutch uprated amongst other things. I've not been out in the car since he's had it done but this is what he bought:

-Sachs rigid organic uprated clutch kit.
-OE LUK dual mass flywheel and release bearing.

Any thoughts on the above? He knows his stuff and fitted the whole kit himself, and from what I gather, loves it. I need to see if I can go out in it soon perhaps to get my own opinion on that. But is anyone else running that setup and have any info/feedback on it?

Aswell as that kit he fitted a Wavetrac LSD, R32 Mk4 front ARB and Neuspeed 25mm rear ARB around the same time. Nice.

No worries mate. :)

Ah cool, you too have good taste then! I must go out in his car someday soon and see what the setup is like. I don't mind if the clutch is a bit firmer, I just don't want it too noisey so it's 'clackity' if that's a word. And also it needs to be reliable and solid running around 320-330lb/ft torque for the remainder of the car's life. On track also..

Video would be awesome mate if you could :D

Gave the car a quick clean tonight as it got covered in bird poo while I was down Newquay this weekend. So I got to work not long after getting in.

What initially was a quick wash turned into a bit of a good cleaning session.

I have now started using Megs NXT Speed Detailer to aid my wash & wax products and I really do think it's great. I apply it as the car is beading before drying.

Also got the Autosol out and had a quick go at the Milltek exhaust tip. Came up well, but I will do it again next time and spend more time on it.

Anyway here's some pics. I got carried away by the way...

Haha, you know it.. Always seems to happen with this car I can't just give it a quick wash it has to be done properly.

Cheers mate :D
Platinum was the only colour I wanted 2nd time around after having an Ebony black LCR before.

Yours is mint though! You and DK make the silver LCR's look awesome with the work you put in.

Meguires is awesome stuff,I don't bother anything else. Looking good fella, once I get my wheels refurb'd,I'm gonna get it detailed. Love your car,I've got the sake colour, looks brilliant when its clean.

It certainly is good stuff. I love this NXT speed detailer though. It smells nice too

Thanks mate, appreciate the comments :D

Mine has never been detailed properly. But this is something in the pipeline for when the money is spare to get it done. Priorities 1st are things like complete bushing/brake overhaul, rear and front ARB's etc. The list goes on and on. Detail will probably be next year, lol.
