Those 2 LCRs must have been registered pretty close togther
Try roughing up the pipes for grip and if the clamps keep working loose could drop a bit of loctite on the thread but would be a swine undo again

Left is my LCR, but right is JonJay's TDI Hybrid mate :)
Very closely registered like you say.

I think that's what I'll do 1st, rough up the edges and get them on as tight as I can. Then trial it for a bit.

Tom the JB weld stuff is a type of liquid metal, it comes in a tube and harden's when you form it into the shape you want, if your going to the hassle of takeing the bumper off then I would do everything possible to the pipe's to prevent them popping off again otherwise you'll have to take it all off again.

Ok Darren, thanks for that info. I've never done/used anything like JB before so could turn into a bit of a mess... Think I'll have to though, or get them taken to Hayward & Scott or something to be flared to fit the hoses better.

It's just like putty mate, you roll it into a thin sausage then put it around the end of the pipe, it will get hot as you work it.

That sounds easy enough! So basically mould it into a raised flare shape on the end of each pipe mate?

tom has the hose actually come right off, sounds a silly question i know. but if it hasnt could you not lock tight the threat on the clip and do it right up. if the hose has completly come of you would have zero boost, not even 0.1 bar.
nice pic by the way :)

Sam it's not completely off but I think if I nail the car at the mo it will work it's way loose! I'm going to inspect it in the morning and see if anything can be done before the bumper comes off sometime soon.

Yep thats it ;)

Good stuff :)

nice car mate. love the grey colour. probably my favorate.

Cheers mate! :D

tom here is a good guild, i might do this myself as it looks so easy :)

Poss fmic change...

Right, a bit earlier I had a go at getting these lower intercooler hoses tightened up to no avail... The clamps are 100% out of reach without bumper off FFS.

This is a right PITA and to be honest I feel like getting a Forge fmic, possibly the big race one. As much as that might seem a joke to everyone, it's not. I am open to big turbo options one day as I can't see myself getting rid of the car within the next year or so now.

The TX one is rated upto 350bhp but I wouldn't want to push it too much personally. I could sell the kit for alright money as it's barely 6 months old, so wouldn't be spending a silly amount overall on the Forge.

I'm seriously considering it, but I'm not 100% on where is cheapest to buy from. Poss Awesome or Forge themself with 10% discount.

Agree with Lee, decent clamps and maybe double clamp them in angles, this should sort the popping off problem. I'd stick with your current set up for now as it seems to be doing the trick. Don't get dis-heartened by the recent probs, it happens to all of us!

Yeah I agree too mate, angled will defo help and they will be easier to get to from now on. Just thinking long term picture here. I'll get the leaks sorted, but I may change still.
