Good choice, my friend has one with the uprated seat... awesome car. Got some pictures on my FB account.. have a look! Oh yeah it's for sale? ;)

Coming from an 8P S3 to a LCR i can promise you the S3 is something special, you won't regret it :D

Mine was fully loaded with Recaros, Flat bottom steering wheel, BOSE etc, damn i miss it

Best thing about it has to be the Quattro, and the power too. Also huge step up in quality from the LCR, feels so much nicer to be in.

Don't get me wrong i like my LCR... but i loved my S3!

I love my LCR, but I've had 2 now, I know the car almost too well and need a change within the next year. It's been on my mind for a while. Never had a Quattro, but have always wanted one since I passed my test nearly 8 years ago.

:D

I just hope my LCR goes to a good home, I really do! :(

I am so very disappointed, you'll miss it when its gone

Ronin, don't be mate. These things happen eventually.. As I said above, this is my 2nd LCR now, and I feel I've almost done my time with them. Brilliant car for the money, good spec, looks better than the mk2, and I love mine to bits  but I want a change and an S3 offers me everything I want from my next car.

I will be tuning it slightly too ;)

Cheers mate! :)

Just gone onto your facebook but I can't see it from briefly looking at your albums. Drop the link into my FB inbox mate.. And a link to his for sale ad if he's got one. Is it on pistonheads? I was on there for nearly 2hrs going through the S3's last night

Here is a link to some photos of mine:

Happy days!!

Yeah mate it was Ibis White

Don't go for Black, its a pain to keep clean and imperfections show up like no other colour.

Can't got wrong with Ibis White or Sprint Blue :D

What time next year are you looking to change car?? Im considering a mk1 LCR when i get back from OZ next year and have wanted this for ages lol! Nothing wrong with my wee beezer just fancy a bigger car!

Love Ibis White, tidy colour!!

Don't think I will consider black on these really. Too much effort to keep clean, lol.

The blue is the one I want really.. :D

Possibly middle of next year mate. I'd like to do it for summer but we'll see. I can't say definitely it will be this month or that month etc, but I will be giving the heads up in here before she goes up for sale.

Cheers though, it's nice to know the car is wanted :)

I have had 2 offers on it this year, one very good earlier in the year, but I've made other changes since then and it was far from ready to go.

I just want her to go to a really good home one day, lol. :)

sad to hear this t0m but very understandable after all the prices of LCR's are dropping very low these days plus this is your 2nd LCR one is enough for me lol

before you sell 225 wheel to me

im thinking bmw m3 e46 next year already or old RS6

Yeah 2 is enough now, wouldn't have a 3rd as good as they are I fancy a change next year..

Haha, I'd rather not start stripping parts off the car before I sell it mate. I'll have to see what I decide nearer the time, it's very early days yet :)

E46's are nice cars, sound lovely. Different animal to the LCR completely really.

An RS6 would be fitting with your name, lol.

I did look at rs6's before i went big turbo, but buying costs are not the issue its running costs.
Ceramic brakes over 2.5k for new discs, just an example

2.5k......... NO THANKS!!!

Your doing the right thing really mate! LCR will be a cheaper project for you.

Dealer would charge nearly 5k for full brake change, thats the price of everything to go big turbo and it gives still gives me the ability to give a bit of shock factor

RS6 would be ace but you'll have the devils own job finding one with a manual box - was only the RS6+ that had that option and personally I wouldn't want a high-performance car with any sort of auto or semi auto. Large twin-turbo engine does appeal though :) Newer ones are all tiptronic as far as I'm aware.

S3 - nice one t0m, logical choice but they're awesome machines and respond very well to the sort of tweaking you're into. Mate of mine has had 3 of them, one 8L and two 8P's. My next will almost certainly be an Audi, I'm thinking RS4 or S5. I'd love the RS5 but again, no manual option, S5 does have it as an option.

What wrong with RS5 gearbox? Car had rave reviews...

I was diehard manual when I was looking for my 335 but when I realised they dont come in manual (gear boxes cant handle the torque reliably) and had to have an auto I was pleasantly surprised. Very smooth gear changes, changes up and down when you want to the car and then when you want to be an old man you can put the car in auto or sport auto.

Of course I do get your point. Just depends how good the gearboxes are in the car you are buying.

Hiya mate, coincidently, I was in my mates S3 last night, it’s a lovely car, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t see what all the fuss is about. It’s just an A3. There’s no real design or flare that’s gone into the appearance of it, same thing goes for the RS3, its lightening quick….but it’s an 8 or 9 year old design.

That’s my opinion, I like it, but there’s nothing really making me want one.

Its that reason why many manufacturers are sticking with the auto boxes as they can handle the power/torque more reliably. I love my manuals, proper kid sometimes when I go to shift gears but at the same time paddle shift is also cool and I have to accept the fact that the next car I want only comes in auto/paddle shift

I am not quite sure EL. I think that they have to take into account that a lot of people want reliable cars and don't want to be changing clutches left right and center. Also they need to keep up with new tech and what the competition is doing. There are new manual cars being built with high power outputs still but it seems you pay a premium now to get them. As far as I know you can't have double clutch setup with a manual so you need paddles.
