How new is the 008? Does it have the same piston as above or different?

I will do mine on Saturday.

Bought 008 within the past 2 months, not sure on if it has the same piston as the 007p. Not opened it up as yet.

Got mine a bit before you then. The piston is defo 100% different to the 007p mate, it's narrower and doesn't have a lipped edge where it concaves like the 007, it's smooth instead. The piston chamber on the 008 is smaller which is what makes it more responsive.

I just wonder if there's a difference with the original 008 piston and the new one. Hopefully so when I sort it on the weekend.

That piston is different to my 008 one. That said I got my 008 about 10 months before they went on sale. Mine doesn't have the O-ring at the bottom of the piston. No reason to suspect mine is leaking but I'll see about a service kit and new piston anyway, the rubber ring is a design improvement anyway.

Yep exactly, an improvement is an improvement. And a free one is even better :)

Not done mine this weekend, it's going to wait till the next but no rush. Got a few bits to do anyway.

Light tint to do the rear LED's has arrived. Will be taking them off to do this. Thanks to Dan for the heads up on this, quality seems good and it's cheaper than other tints out there.

will be interested to see this, as iam having a real problem deciding how to make mine darker without looking shite.

You and me both mate.

It's not a blacked out look, the colour is light grey and I just want a subtle tint to darken down the clusters a bit in the daytime. Going to remove the lights at the weekend hopefully and give it a go.

Ticket for Players Show at Goodwood paid for! Not on a club stand or anything but always wanted to go. James L is someone I know who is going. Dan is taking the carbon R32 as well so should be a good day with good banter as always :)

Anyone else coming along?

I'm also going to go to GTI International this year. I've decided it is time to get the car to Inters' and hopefully meet some people from here that aren't local to me, but are people/cars I have followed and know pretty well from the forum. Be good to meet some of you there. I think Ronin you went last year and a few others? James Parkin are you going? Fingers crossed for a decent turnout. I'm going to do the whole weekend.

James L is organising the scn club stand, get your names down if you're coming.

I've not been before either mate. Have you read the thread that pops up when you log on to scn? All the info is there. Club stand is on the tarmac and people are camping just off that right near it.

Get your name down :)

Doesn't have to be show standard mate, just give it a bit of quick detailer on the day ;)

Make your way over early from the travelodge and be on the stand.

Iv put my name down on the list so gives me time to sort the car out ! Need to get the bumper resprayed really!

Dont worry about it mate, mines got blemishes all over it, it'll still be on the stand.

What he said ^

Don't worry mate, you don't need a perfect car to be on the stand. I've got bits of bodywork needing sorting on mine but it won't be done for Inters' no chance.

It's something I'll give serious thought to Tom. Richard has asked if I'm going too. I'm away pretty much for the whole month of June with work, so it's going to be dependant on the little one really. However, it'd be a mega weekend to meet some of you and see some cars that I've admired for so long... :)

With the tints Tom, how are they applied? With water like a window tint? I think they'll look ace with the grey tint. I'm a big fan of D.K's rear tints, but I gather you don't want to go that dark on a grey car? Didn't Dan use an alternative to Lamin-x? Is that what you have gone for?

That's understandable mate. Would be cool if uou could make it and get a few of these LCR's together for some group photos :)

Firstly, you're correct, they are the same tints as Dan used on his R32. Cheaper than Lamin-X and the quality seems good. I bought two 500mm x 250mm light grey sheets to do each rear light with. The backing peels off and you have to use a hairdryer on it so presume it's adhesive in it's own right. Dan said to use something to push any bubbles out as you lay it on. I'll be taking the lights out and probably re fitting the old one's so I can do it indoors and take my time and get it right. And you're right re the shade of tint, I didn't want it as dark as 'blacked out' - just a light tint will do me and I think suit the car more. I hope it's going to look as I picture it once done.

It will do mate. It sounds vert user-friendly. With heat it's probably going to be more pliable and will hug the contours of the lights really well. Looking forward to the pictures :)
