last night saw the begining of the "prep work" i started to get rid of the worst laquer peal, a few bits on the roof, rear door, A post and just above the rear light, its looking patchy as hec has some of it had to go back to the undercoat but its all good
today i sorted my special box of bits, made sure all was there and made a list of things i still need
this is the main thing i spose
i know it wont be the same yellow as it looks in the tin, i was told it is close to the MG glossy yellow, with it going on to a yellow base coat too i think it will be more or les the same as the " in ya face" yellow by MG, i like that though and it was about £80 cheaper than getting a match on the paint, im more than happy!!
im in hope that we will have the spraying done mid to end of next month, it will take time as the car needs to be used daily and the prep can only be done after work or the odd weekend.
also today i completed the DIY short shift mod
also 2 weeks ago i did my spacers, i bought a set of 15mm from ebay along with a set of 50mm bolts, it was used stuff but it didnt bother me
when it came to bolting the wheels back on i found that 50mm is too long so set about cutting 5mm off them, all done and on now, i actually went 20mm on the rear and 15 on the front
here is some pics of an oem hub, 5mm spacer and 15mm spacer also oem bolt and a 50mm bolt
im also looking at a set of coilovers, just doing my sums as i had around £650 to play with for the respray, iv spent £162 on the paint and my bro in law is doing the spraying cheap for me, iv prob spent around £20 on some odd bits, paint mesuring cups, sandpaper, tapes, water stopper valve etc. i just might treat my self to a set OR at least a set of springs
