I have a chance of a 6 month old set of these for muchos cheapness for the R and I was wondering if anyone has heard of them before???

I have tried to do a bit of digging about them and afaik there in the same catagory as Jamex, G-max etc

Now please bear in mind I wont be doin any track days in my leon but do have the odd spirted drive around the local twisty roads up my way so i'm not expecting touring car handing here lol

I will be adding ARBs short after as well if I do get them

Any one else heard of them???

to be perfectly honest what do you look for in a car??? handling or lownesss??? if you want your car to handle better then a set of cheap coilovers wont do the job aswell as a set of equally priced aftermarket shocks and springs, however if you are getting these so cheap then why ask the question??? IMHO the cheap coilovers you see are inly useful for making the car lower and arent that good at making the car handle (especially on track days) another thing to consider is after you fit new suspension etc leave it a week or so to settle in then get four wheel alighnment done as this alone can make a car handle completely differently

I'm looking for a bit of both, I know a lad on here has the Jamex ones and he says there superb on his LCR.

As i've said I wont be doin track days but the odd bit of spirited driving on the twisties round my way isnt out the question.

I just wanna make sure that I buy a decent enough set with a decent reputation

If you say you want decent, you won't get that with a cheap set - invest in your comfort & safety with a mid range setup, rather than the cheapest budget kit you can.

what about v-maxx?? think they are about £300 and thats what im going for because p-torque recommended them for the price, handling and low factor!

Sooner suggest a nice fixed drop Koni setup - far better road holding & comfort than cheap coilovers

Would you put someones second hand OE filter in your airbox?!

The world is obsessed with BHP figures and lowering, but far less so with making sure the modifications they pay for can be successfully planted on the tarmac.

You're only cutting your nose off to spite your face for performance / safety / long term reliability. Never take short cuts here mate.

^^^exactly the only set of coilovers to get are the expensive ones, "you get what you pay for" to b perfectly honest the cheap coilovers are only good for making your car as low as you can and if you go too low the handling/ ride comfort will be seriously reduced, i dont know what the magic number for leons is for the handling but with mk2 golfs it was about 40mm lower, (something to do with the wishbones sitting level when at rest?????) the other option you have is if they really are a steal buy them fit them and if you dont like them take them off and sell them on and buy some propper suspension

i dont think buying the most expensive is always the best option, some of the 'cheaper' not the cheapest coilovers are just as good as the expensive ones but you dont have to pay for the name!
some could say a seat is a cheaper vw which is generally true, but you wouldnt argue vw's are any better!
in some cases it is true 'you get what you pay for' but i dont think just because its the most expensive ones, they are the best!
just my opinion but as said above the hottuning and cheap cheap ones arent going to be any good!

had jamex on a few of my cars now and my mates have. i have also had fk and there was hardly any difference nothing noticable. most companys like v maxx, g max, jamex, etc use the same manufactuer i think and just branded different because they ar identical in everyway.

cant fault the jamex on my car, brilliant ride and anybody thinking of buying some who wants to try is welcome to its not far off standard ride and obviously depends how low you go. not bouncy or trashy at all. w midlands area.

The only reason I was asking about the technix ones is that the ones i'm lookin at are 6 months old so will still have warranty and the lad want £150 ono for them

Think I might just wait tho as i've read a thread on the Ibiza section and they have very mixed opinions on them lol

I have used K-Sport & D2 suspension on previous Japanese cars and both gave great results. They do have applications for SEAT as I have checked this and prices worked out at around £600. Both are fully height adjustable and unlike the KW V1, both are dampening ajustable (K-Sport 24way & D2 36way). I felt 100% safe at all times using these and not once did they let me down. IMO they were the perfect compromise of handling & comfort. If you want more info and details of UK retailers (which has taken me a while to source) then PM and i'll be happy to help :)

the ta teknix coilovers are great actually, if i was going to get a set of coilovers they would more than likely be the ones i would get, my mate had a set on his old cupra r and they were excellent, couldnt tell the difference between my kw v3's and his ta teknix, if anything, his ta teknix were smoother than my kw v3's, and both of our cars were dropped to the floor

I am very shocked by this lol

Your the first person in here to say they are actually very good lol

just because they are cheap doesn't mean there s**t, most of these places buy from china because the labour is so cheap, and triple there price when they are in the shops, i was well suprised after jumping in my mates car and then jumping back into mine, you would expect them to be crap compared to a £1000 set of coily's, but they aint
