Top tips are:
In addition to plastic trim removal tools, get one of these - I have not broken a trim panel since buying one, and my paint-less dent repair guy has bought one after seeing me use it:
Silverline 927687 Trim Clip Removal Pliers, 235 mm : Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools
www.amazon.co.uk
Also, use a heat gun or hair-drier to heat up the plastic trim panel before trying to remove it - if cold, the plastic is very brittle and will snap/shatter very easily.
Another top tip is not to drop the metal tangs into the double skinned areas - that rattle like hell and are a PITA to remove.
