Hi,
any experiences with taking the cat off the exhaust. ( LEON FR 2.0 TFSI) I am thinking of new exhaust but I would like to take the cat off, I dont wont a sport cat and the question is:

If I take the cat off will it turn on any engine lights , alarms or anything. I wonder because I wouldnt like to drive my car with any warning lights on. Can it damege an engine? I assume not but nevertheless. Any experiences with the cat off?

Sorry for my bad English, I am from Croatia.

I beleive it will bring up warning lights if you just remove the Cat. Do you have a remap?

Hm

No, I have not remaped my car jet. I am waiting to modify my exhaust. I was reading a lot and I figured it out that on remaped car, K03S turbo has a lot of back pressure. Exhaust is a restrinctive. I will do a as I call it a haelthy tuninig. I plan to change complete induction ( forge ), and complete exhaust( with or without a catalytic converter) and a remap to "only" 240 bhp. My car is new and I plan to use it at least for 4 or maybe 5 years and as one tuner ( proffesional) explained it to me that if taking a turbo charger to a higher lewel (remap) it would be a smart thing to do to change a complete exhaust. I figured, that, "only" 40 bhp up and a adequate exhaust wouldnt stress my car that much. And there is a difference between cat and no cat at all. Big difference in performance gains( not that I am with my plan going to see it with my plan to 240 bhp) but a sport cat cost here in Croatia about 400 pounds and for comparison a complete exhaust with downpipe but without a cat 550 pounds. For me too much.
