dont know if it will be the same thing but on my lcr there is a light tappy noise, what it is is the little black box on the drivers side of the engine bay right next to the power steering fluid resevoir, not sure on specifics cause i aint a mechanic but this box recycles fuel in some way (according to a mechanic, it was something like that anyway, fuel or exhaust or something, something about filtering/cleaning it)
anyway it ticks away at times but this is apparently OK, be easy to tell if your tick is coming from the same place, just have a listen! (whilst engine running, but not wearing a tie or scarf lol)
if you struggle to find it il take a pic and post it, id give a better description but stuck in office at the mo
also if anyone can explain to me exactelly what the box im on about does id be grateful

Its very normal, i had the same worry but later found out that all LCRs do this nothing to worry about, i only heard it because i have taken out my bonnet lining to make the DV sound louder.
Yeah totally, my jetex cone and Forge DV sound 10 times better, gives the car a real grunt, give it a try its a 2 min job just clip it off and if you dont like it 2 mins to clip it back on.. only thing is its there to muffle sound so you will hear all sorts of noises from the engine but dont worry they were always there
