Tax for 2.0TDi Sport

We've just had notification through for the car's tax. DVLA reckons that the emissions are 154g/km, however the seat website says the average is 147g/km.

Is there a way we can get DVLA to adjust their records so that we get charged the right amount?

The band that they think we're in costs £145, the band we should be in is £120

My TDI Sport Altea says 159g/km on the V5 logbook. it is best to go check your documentation rather than a website. TAX for mine is £145

The other thing to consider is you have an 06 car and the Seat website has the current details. They have probably fiddled with it to bring the emissions down to put it in a lower tax bracket. Plus any options will affect it.

yes there has be a couple of different engine outputs on the 2.0 TDI - 138bhp(100kw) and 140bhp (103kw)

Yup options can change the CO2 of a car, the CO2 is calculated when the Type Approval code is assigned for a particular, Make, Model, Trim, Level, Engine and Options combination. Not all options change the CO2 but some do. Also this the Type Approval code tends to change between model years as well.

Manfacturers constantly update the spec of cars, even if these aren't obvious to the customer and they constantly strive to lower CO2.

Ref Sport PD140 2.0ltr V5 has it as 154g/km. This has nothing extra over a normal 2.0ltr PD140.

As i said earlier, check your V5 documentation. as this thread shows many TDI 140s have different emission values.

The V5 logbook is the only way to tell you what CO2 emissions you car has, at the time of manufacture.
