Generally, if it's reading more air than it's going to inject more fuel.
Exactly what I thought,,,
Mojo, I was talking about the MAF, not the MAP.

Many visits to dealers one of whom has sold out for a block of flats, the second tried to get £400 for damaged front suspension (caused by road humps he said). Believe me there is no damage!
Just got the car back from two days of diagnostics and third day fitting new turbocharger. Goes like a lead balloon now - like a bootful of paving stones.
It's going back Monday and I've twisted the forepersons arm until they've agreed to check the MAF which I asked for in the first place.
They told me that SEAT have issued a new routine to identify the reasons for the losses of power so many TDi's seem to suffer and mine was the first they had done it on. Pity it didn't help! What I don't understand was the car had been out on a road test and was presumably satisfactory. When I took it away it was awful but I had things to do or it would have been a U-turn job.
Anyway all on Warranty and am I glad I got the fourth year.
By the way my knowledgeable friend who has his own car maint/repair business warns me to mark the existing MAF as a favourite trick is to wash them in CTC which gets them going for a while, but it gets less effective each time. Problem is there does not appear to be a direct indication of a failed MAF in the VAG COM diagnostics - it only indicates that the airflow volume is well under the required amount. So you have a problem explaining to an idiot so-called mechanic at the franchise that he really needs to fit a NEW one.
