I'm tempted by all 4 FR/Cupra Petrol/Derv its the first time I've ever been drawn like that to a single car. I normally like big fuel guzzling BMWs, they are serious fun but with working being a bit poo at the moment I wont be there much longer so I need a step down in petrol/price/insurance

As you are quite clearly a man in the know of your petrols Rashcupra - what problems do you face when tuning them and what sort of cost gives you what sort of gains? ie am I going to need to spend 700 on a new clutch for one?

You generally wont need a new clutch for a petrol till your running around 300BHP.

Hmm, does any ancillary need changing on the petrol? Apart from Intercooler?

Stage 1: Remap

Stage 2: Remap, exhaust, induction kit, intercooler?

Depends how far you wanna go.

You could get around 230/240 ish from the Standard turbo on the FR/Cupra.

You'd need a few more bits and bobs as previously mentioned if you get the FR (FMIC brakes etc)

Any higher and you'll need new turbo and associated bits, possibly a new clutch depending on how high you go.

Anything upto 500+ is possible if you had the money.

If your going to tune the car past a simple remap then get the Petrol Cupra, dont bother with the diesel, and what you originally saved getting the FR you'll have to spend on bits that come standard on the Cupra.

the petrol you get good gains for little money as the 1.8t is a great engine to modifyas stated by dift the clutch will last out till around the 280bhp area i have a angel tuning remap at the mo suppost to be a 45bhp gain from standard but i doubt it so im really wanting to get CC so they can remap my car to all my modifications efficently and get it on the rolling road at the same time me personaly i would get the petrol cupra and im sure every1 else if they had more money would prefer it too

Might prefer it and could afford to run it but couldnt justify it
