Hi,

Can anyone tell me if the Leon TDI FR / Cupra came with the glove box CD changer as standard?

The car I have bought according to the salesman only comes with a single CD player, I didn't check the glove box mind you and he may be wrong?

My mate has a TDI Cupra and his came with a CD changer in the glove box and this was not an option.

Strange ain't it, they change the name of the model of the car from cupra to FR and take some kit away.

Ah well the head unit will be swapped me thinks for an mp3 head unit :)

Hi I bought my Leon FR (55) Tdi new and it did not have a multi changer in the glove box.

My FR TDi has no changer, just the single CD head unit.

They changed the name to give more differentiation for the Cupra R, so I guess they down-speced it for the same reason.

Cupra = CD Changer

FR = Single CD changer

During the transition between Cupra & FR, some FR's were loaded with the CD changer though, same with the badges (I think SEAT just got themselves in a muddle !!)

Yeh it seems that the cupra has a cassette headunit and therefore a cd multichanger in the glove box
so when they updated the car about 05 onwards ie calling it the fr they also updated the headunit single cd jobbie and in doing so getting shut of the problomatic multichanger.
