Formerly a 1988 MK2 Golf GTi 8v, now running something with a little more 'poke'. As far as I know it was converted sometime ago. A friend of mine bought it from a guy on PistonHeads but it since stopped running and after a busted clutch cable had been laid up for six months. I bought it from my friend with a view to getting it back on the road. Oddities on the car include a fully working a/c system and cruise control, along with PAS and RS Turbo Recaro seats. I sorted the running issue, after reparing some of the wiring to the Emerald M3DK ECU she roared into life, what a noise. Just the clutch and brakes to sort out and i'll see about getting her back on the road.

Why though? Its a different plate. The one that is currently on the car is an Irish plate, they dont match.

car is looking good mate! my mate has a red mk2 gti the same colour as that!! like the rear lights on it, suit the car nicely! the paintwork looks pretty mint on it aswell

As far as I know bar the management and adjustable boost the engine itself is standard bar no cat on the exhaust.

programmable ecu and still standard:think:
so just how much was this little gem ross?it looks superb.

The programmable ECU is basically used to make the transplant easier I think. But im not sure as yet how it is set up. Been told that 260-270 wont be a problem with this management.

Cost?

£1500.

as far as i have read, stand alone ecu is used so you can get passed the imobiliser /clocks/locks etc from the donar car.this is also why its running without a MAF.
standard clocks/keys etc ?i'll give you 1600 quid for it ;)

Yeah its using a MAP sensor instead of the MAF. Good think is I have the serial cable and software and a whacking great manual for the management. Ignition, fueling and boost can all be adjusted so should be able to up the power a bit when its all working ok.
