Technology pack question

Hi Guys

I have today placed an order for a FR CR DSG with the technology pack and convenience pack and have a question regarding the sat nav.

I can’t find any information on the sat nav and the sales man had not seen the unit, will the unit warn of speed cameras, if not can a data base be added? Has the unit got points of interests, if so how comprehensive are they?

It's the Blaupunkt RNS-310 and as standard doesn't have speed camera locations. Not sure if they can be added though, but you might be able to find more info online. As to POIs, it has them, but they're not fantastic.

They're just the maps rather than the software itself.

Sorry i thought it was all by the same company - would tele atlas not need to do cameras specific for their maps?

I wondered about this too. I got my FL FR TDI a couple of weeks ago and the satnav is excellent, but speed camera information would be really useful (especially with all my newly acquired torque ) There was a mention of a 'camera file' in another thread that somebody was going to try, don't know if it worked though...

I know it says VW, but they're pretty much the same across the range.

I wonder if it's possible to add speed cameras to the satnav as mapping information. Similar to how the TomTom units can be updated with location packs, like UK supermarkets or National Trust locations etc.

That’s how I thought they would be i.e. the unit supports points of interest so thought a there would be a database available although I’m begin to think this is not possible
