Had the red light on temp gauge beep at me a few times when its been cold. Checked level and all seems ok. Took it to stealers and they said couldnt find anything wrong. No leaks or faults etc. Rang different dealer and was told its a warning that outside temperature has been below 5degrees. Now my old Golf used to beep at you when you were driving along and temperature outside was less than 5degrees but the Leon has never done this. Leon is beeping when started from cold. If you turn engine off then back on again it doesnt beep. Am i being fed a load of crap from dealers or is it correct what they are telling me? Dont know why i bother even ringing them apart from the cars still in warranty!!!!!

there was a post about this in the last few days several of us have had the little red light come on and a beep noise sound when sdtarting from cold... it could eithere be a warning that the temp is low or it could be the coolant sensor playing up apparently it is a common fault

I went down the common fault route with the dealer and they just said all seats are doing it now. Safety warning i was told. Not so certain though.

Mcmaddy...The search facility would have helped you ;)

This is the most common and talked about fault on this forum. It has been discussed at least 100 times a week for about the last 5 years:lol:

Hint hint......Use the searchy;)

Oh the prongs on the sensor inside your expansion tank (coolant bottle) are scaled up and need descaling with a little flat bladed screwdriver. If this doesn't solve it, a replacement of the expansion tank which costs about £25 will do:)

Why bother with the dealer, SCN is far more valuable ;) The experts in fact no very little:lol:

Think we need to make it a sticky or go add it the problmes section.

I did search but thought the problem on mine was different to posts id looked at. Will be ringing dealer first thing as still under warranty. Thanks for your help
