Terramar 1.5 Hybrid (150 CV)

Hi all,
I've noticed these white inserts above both sun visors in my Terramar.
They are present on both the driver and passenger sides and look very much like small light lenses.
However, they never illuminate. I've tried with the interior lights on, doors open, vanity mirror open, and various lighting settings, but I've never seen any light coming from them.
My car already has the front overhead LED reading lights and the touch/proximity controlled interior lighting in the roof console, so I'm not sure whether these inserts are supposed to have a function at all.
Are they:
  • blanking covers,
  • mounting point covers,
  • sensor covers,
  • or perhaps lights fitted only on certain trims/options?
I'd be interested to know if other Terramar owners have the same parts and whether they're functional or just covers.
Thanks!

Well, this is properly embarrassing! 😄 You're absolutely correct, both of you.

I can honestly say I've never actually used the vanity mirror, so it never occurred to me that the light would only come on when the cover was opened.
I somehow managed to convince myself it might be a blanking cover, a sensor, or some mysterious hidden feature instead.

Thank you for the explanation, and extra thanks for finding the relevant page in the owner's manual.
I'll file this one under "daft questions that turned out to have very simple answers"

Cunning. I believe I have them in my Ateca as well ;) .

They will be push in LED lights housed in their own unit. The Ateca ones were common across the car. The boot LED was the same unit as the foot illumination. Sealed VAG units. Anyhow the boot and the foot one were the same. Those are probably more special pretty ones. I wouldn't recommend pulling them out but if you did you can google the part and see where else it's fitted for fun.
