Though since Id given the inside a little dust down and got some more miles on it Id put up a few new shots of it. Should really of got more, its been on some epic roads in the peak distric lately and it has monstered them for a standard set up car. Really is a good car out of the box.
anyway, a few pics, not enough of the car/roads but I'll have some rolling video next time as i will set my mount up.

not sure on the outside shape of these, as I quite preferred the fatter shape of the previous model, but I think the interior is a marked improvement on the original one, seats look like they really hold you in

UPDATE TIME.

Yeah, I like modifying too much to not do it, even when I have a car as fun as this :)

Ive bought a Bluefin Device from Superchips. Its a handheld remapping device. It looks like an oversized sex toy/virgin TiVo remote. But it does the job :) Advantages of this are swapping between standard/mapped for servicing, or winter !

IMG_20130816_000332.jpg

Really easy to do, tried one on the Fiesta but Felt no difference(being a small N/A engine) Figured id give one another go as ive read nothing but good things about it on the Focus ST250. Plug it in to the OBD port, it spends 10mins reading/saving your original map. You then connect to your PC and upload the file, after a few hours Superchips will email you saying the new file is ready, plug your device back in to the PC, then plug the sex toy back into the car, upload. 10mins later, drive away with your extra Brakehorsepowerzzz.

Standard the car is around 250bhp, mapped it should be running around 280bhp, with a full exhaust and CAIS it would be running almost 300bhp.

First results are good, driving normally it feels just the same, part throttle you can see/tell its getting extra boost, boot it and it really pulls you back, kinda like everything has been turned up to 11-from 9. Remapping is the way forward, was great in the cupra, is great in this!

Standard 40-60 Time:

IMG_20130817_160838.jpg

This was with 1/4 tank and just me in the car.

Bluefin 40-60:

IMG_20130817_160856.jpg

This was with a full tank and an extra passenger. So I anticipate 2s 40-60 possibly in same conditions. I value my clutch so I didnt fancy doing alot of 0-60 launches in it, for a powerful FWD car like this, thats not important.

The faster you go the more pull it has, I imagine the 40-80 time is massively reduced! It pulls harder and stronger closer to the redline, where as before it would be worthless after 5.5k. The Torque figures are impressive and standard or mapped theres no deneying its a powerful midrange puncher.

Max Boost pressure standard(little red arrow indicates max)

The blue doesnt match but nevermind! Can hear the dump valve more now Sounds good and difference to standard and is fairly loud even with the lid on.

Im off to go clean my car as on wends its going on an epic drive to Ireland and spending 10days driving around some utterly brilliant roads :)

Got back Yesterday night from my road trip in the B-road beaST. We have a house and family over in County Kerry in Ireland, its about as far south and west as you can go in Europe. Its a really, REALLY pretty place and I have plenty shots of the scenery but as this is a car forum I'll upload mostly car shots :)

Most were taken on a 120mile circular semi-coastal route called the Ring of Kerry, its got brilliant roads and breathtaking views. Others were on a road called Connors Pass up over the side of a mountain. These are among the many brill views and roads to drive if you ever fancy going. The weather was even nice(most days)

These are taken on an area called the Black Valley, very narrow tight turns and loose gravel surface at times, more like a rally course than a road.

The car performed brilliantly, It was very potent at overtaking*, handled great and was comfotable enought to drive all day with out feeling worn out.

*Perhaps too Potent... Driving the last leg of the Ring on a wide main road and a Coach put his indicator on but then didnt turn off, Usually a sign to overtake, so I stepped on the pedal and overtook, there was a car right infront of the coach that I had to pass but meant passing on hatched markings for turning and I kept my foot in typically as a Garda Police car was driving the other way, passed coach and car in excess of 110leptons and the police rightly turned around and caught up, luckily enough he just gave me a warning and asked if I was in a rush, spent some tiem looking at the car too :) Winner!

On the motorway back it managed fairly good MPG for a 280bhp 2.0T.

Hoep you enjoyed the pics. I'll be putting the rest in my photo bucket if anyone wants to look at somepoint.

Sounds like you got very lucky with the Irish rozzers there. Had it been a grumpy sod you could have been looking at points or even a court date at that speed. Unless the speed limit higher in County Kerry?

Nice write up though and lovely pics!

120kph/75mph speed limit. 2 points on an " Irish licence" and a fine iirc.

Thanks, I've got more to upload of the views will do that tomorrow

Jesus 41mpg! Guess that's why they went to 4 cylinder lol. I don't even get half that! Not that I care much for mpg if I did I'd buy a derv.

I love the interior of the new shape but I just can't take its face serious enough. And much prefer the noise of the 5 cylinder. But all that matters is you like it ha. But overall the focus st is an awesome car no matter which shape (bar the 170 lol).

I know I was shocked! I came back with about €300 left as I expected to burn it all on petrol. Round town its 27mpg thats not bad either. It's ended up being a better choice than I was expecting with regards to cost. I actually really like the sound, its not"fake" its kinda nice to hear the throbby engine noise, course its never guna sound like the 5cly but I'll take that for the rest of the dynamics.

Good write up of your trip. Not the prettiest ST that's ever been but the rest of the package seems like a real improvement on the 5cyl version.

Good you're enjoying it and reading your thoughts on it ties up with what I've seen elsewhere so I definitely respect these a bit more now.

Beautiful car mate and love the colour, never seen one before. I'm from west Limerick, about an hours drive from Killarney. If I'd spotted you I would have had a right good look round the car like that gard haha!

Hopefully the interior quality has improved

My mate has a 10 plate blue rs focus and the quality of the materials used on the inside is shocking

Everything is cheap plastic, kinda reminded me of a 90's peugeot / citroen

The recaros look abit strange in the old RS too. I know what You mean about the previous shape interior, things have come on. Its a really nice place to be inside now with lots of detail. Led interior lights that can be directed to passenger/driver or both-very handy. Ambient lighting in door handles, roof, cup holders, door pockets and foot well at night, cubby holes, detailing on ac dials ect. The dash is a soft material, like foam covered in leather (?) Possibly.
