i think i like the cupra one not the R but what do u lot think. Also how easy are they 2 fit and do i need eny extras with the bumper to make it fit ?
thanks!!!

hmm tough one mate, the only danger with the R one is that you might be branded a wanabe, but if it was me i wouldnt care, got for the cupra r one!

Cupra R all the way, the only problem is the ones on ebay are usually the crappy replica ones which dont fit and dont include all the fixing clips etc. Try and get a used one if possible because the fits better.

Also the cupra R bumpers require different fogs, the standard cupra and facelift can use the same fogs. From memory these are like 80/90 quid each.

Im not worryed about looking like a wonabby thats the whole point i carnt affored the insurance on a cupra so i whant a replica lol but im still persuaded by the cupra one was thinking about a cupra R splitter on it thow ?

Cupra for me! Get a cupra R splitter fitted to it too. There are a few bits and bobs needed to fit it but its a pretty easy job.

what sort of bits and bobs?
it wont be untill after xmas now till i can start the project trying to get rid ov my previous car that im stuck with so...
also trying to get some good ideas for the prodject!

You will need some guide profiles, ( i think thats what they are called?) to make the bumper fit mate. There is loads of info with part numbers and stuff if you have a search ;) It might end up costing a bit but it is well worth it!

sorry guys but im mega confused iv got a bog standed 1.9 tdi so what would i actualy need to fit cupra front and rear bumpers coz everyone is saying somthing differnt so can someone plz help me i thought me being a machanic would help me but oveasly not lol

I changed my bumpers from bog standard to the cupra with the cupra r splitter, was a pretty straight forward job to be honest, there was a few bits u have to play about with but nothing to worry about, as long as u keep ur original bolts n bits ul be ok u just need the arch extensions otherwise ul have gapping holes at the bottom where it doesnt join up on the bumper, try and get genuine bumpers if u can ur guaranteed theyl have a straight fit, i know when ppl say get genuine ur a bit like :scary: but its worth it in the end, what u would spend getting sum1 to make them fit u could have u spent on genuine 1s just keep looking out for them they will appear especially the cupra 1s have a look at my profile or my readers ride n u can see it there for ur self mate, where u too in wales?

bumpers

I would go for the cupra r, if i was you. They are not to hard to fit, one thing ud have to watch out for before you purchase is the finishing stardard on them. I bought a whole bodykit for my last car about two years ago, and the seller said they were all primed up and ready for painting. When i recieved the kit sometime later it was not primed atall, it still had marks on it from the mould it was formed by. It took me and a mate all week sanding and priming before we got a bodyshop to spray it. Also when you have the kit on your car you pick up every single stonechip, which is rather annoying

For either of the bumpers you will need the guide profiles, they are the same for both, these hold the bumper on to the wings, and you will need the arch extensions, this is all you need to fix it to the car (front and back), BUT you will need all the grills the cupra r 's cost about £100 all in give or take, (front only) try to find one with all the grills fogs £80 EACH from stealers about £50 on ebay then you will need to paint it unless you are lucky enough to find one in your colour, good second hand ones are out there but you need to be patient AND lucky.

thanks guy i know what im doing now just gota be patient and wait for them to crop up now. Im from pontypool A5HL3Y !:D

cupra one all day long, the r one is too intrusive, especially on a 1.9 derv mate....

why not just colour code yours up, maybe smooth the bumpers a little

youre cash would be better spent on handling and performance mods than cosmetic

either way youll hav to tell insurance so handling, braking, performance.

turn it into a sleeper not a replica
