Always thought civic type r`s were super quick for a hot hatch but these ibiza are definately a wolf in sheeps clothing.
1 came up behind me today, then pulled up next to me on the by-pass with a load of boys in, all looking at my car and smiling, just had stage 2 done so i thought i`d have a play.
Stuck my middle finger up 2 the driver and dropped the box heard him change down aswell,(at this point my arse is going 5 pence, 50 pence) the little ibiza left him standing and saved me getting beat up by 3 big boys.:funk:

Not supprised they were going to beat you up if you go around sticking the finger up to anyone who looks at your car !

;)

sounds gd....i've been waiting for an opportunity against a type r but havn't had the luck yet

i've come up against a couple of type R's before first time i stayed with him and 1 passenger til 80 (on the track of course ;))then he just pulled about 4 car lengths on me, and the second time another guy pulls about a cars length on me until we reach about 75 then he did the same :(,
but my car was only running standard :D

nice one mate, ive had a play with a few of them, and they cant get away mid range, plus you know theyre going for it, when you hear vtec kick in!

come to the track, the CTr would wipe the floor with the cupra's even, im runnign 250bhp and they are both out cornering me and getting power down sooner out of the bends thus getting the edge till the next long stright.

thats the trouble with the derv unfortunatly
just as your power and torque are trailing off their V-tec kicks:doh:
if you get some one who knows what their doin then they do i'm afraid pull a big gap

nice one mate the 20vt ibiza is fast with a bit of money spent on it!
gave mine a bit of a thrashing today was great fun smell of burning rubber mae me a bit ill though lol

my mate has a type R mate and it kills me in every gear, ive got a cupra tdi ecu remapped to 200bhp and 300lbs of torque.
There a far better handling car as well so you wont live with them through the bends.

Its down to the driver im afraid. At the last trackday at snetterton, there were two type r's, neither were quicker than any of the SEAT's there that day. Wether they were driving the cars properly I dont know, but I did pass them a few times.

IS it a Cupra TDI you have? Or just the ECU? As standard the Cupra TDI isnt brilliant, I put the problems mainly down to the P-Zero's. They go off so quick. A good set of F1's or Similar transform the car. Together with a Strut brace are a cheap way of imensly improving the handling.

yer not best practice to show some1 the fingure on the road. Some pure nutters out there lol. Anyway have to say even though I have a 1.2 it is faster than my mates 1.2 corsa, my mates 1.2 clio and my other mates peugot 1.1 lol. So they are pretty quick even standerd

Its a cupra tdi with the remap. i have front and rear strut brace's as well.
yes the tyres let it down, i will be putting 225/35/r17 on when a new set is due.
i don't think there any match for a type r myself, the type r's have better chassis, better dynamics better gearboxes better engines in fact for the job everyone is arguing about.
for 'real world' driving the cupra are well off the handling of type r's there leave you for dead around lanes as the cupra's just keep over steering all the time.
not really fair to compare a diesel with a petrol hot hatch tho as we all brought our diesels for one reason..... we can't afford the petrol !!! lol.
you can buy far superior petrol's for the money we paid for our diesels.
don't get me wrong I love my cupra but im afraid its no sports car :(
