Thinking of buying a Seat Leon

Hi.
My name is Robert i`m from Norway and i`m thinking of buying a Seat Leon 1.8t 4X4.
Vent to see one today and got some questions about some issues on the car.
If they are normal and easy fixes or if it`s bigger problems.

The issues are:
Kind of loud ticking noise from the engine. From what I have found on this forum it`s some kind of carbon filter? But how loud is that noise normally?

Some kind of ratteling, metallic sound from the rear. Maybe some bushings or something?
Or a brake shield

When I floor the throttle and then releases it to "normal" driving it kind of stalls for a little bit, like the revs are dropping a little. Anyone know what that could be? Didnt really know what to search for.

And there is a oil leak but I don`t think it`s worse than a cam cover gasket.

My advice would be go and find one that isnt a dog and buy that one intead. A good well cared for car would have none of the above problems.

I would'nt buy anything that rattles and drives like grandma's biscuit tin and certainly nothing that leaks oil like that.

The carbon canister is an annoying ticking noise, but if it's pretty loud inside the car, could be something else.


The oil leak might be a simple fix- a pretty cheap rubber gasket (half moon one should be replaced too).

 

[Kemono]

The rattling noise is not loud or anything, it comes if I drive over washboard like bumps.
Cant really hear it at normal driving.
I only hear the ticking noise when the bonnet is open so I guess it`s normal?
Not many of those car for sale in Norway, kind of a rare car..

Yeah never had them in blighty as far as im aware (unless imported ofc) bet they handle like go-carts too.

Unfortunately the 1.8t 4x4 is as rare as hens teeth, even in the places where it was initially built. It's more a case of buy a dog and fix it up rather than be choosy.

It sounds to me like there are a few loose things underneath, perhaps the cat heat shield or something on the suspension. Maybe a couple of failed bushes? I have no idea what the throttle issue would be though.
