When I was looking for quotes, insurance for a valver wasnt much more than an 8v, especially if you can find one that was registered as a cupra sport!
Something to think about

Depends on the car itself....

I'd say the well-known black one might be worth 2k to the right person as it's one of the tidiest out there.

You could probably buy a decent one for around the 1k mark though. If mine fetches anything in the region of 1k, i'd be a very happy bunny.

I'd pay 2k for it. Paid that for mine, although its a valver with tiger stripes etc and I got 2 sets of wheels

I'm hoping to have a poke around it when i'm up in Glasgow on Saturday.
Am undecided if it would be better to buy that and spend the 3k budget I have for paint on a 1.8T conversion
What you think of that Ant?

Tough choice! I think there's a good chance i'd be driving back from sunny glasgow in a different car to the one i arrived in ;) How much are 1.8t conversions costing nowadays?

If I had the 2K I would definetely take the black one off Dave's hands. Its such a nice car with only 59k on it aswell.

But guess what, I dont have the 2K . Looks like the 1.4 for alittle longer.

That is a tough choice Ollie. Depends what car you were going to put the 1.8T engine in. Im guessing it would be Dave's car.?

No way. Overpriced mate. It has'nt even got half leather seats for that money. Pay no more than 1300 for it. If not then walk away.

I think buying a car like that of that age you have got to expect that at some point someone has thrashed the living sh$t out of it!

You dont buy a GTI to plod about it do you?

You say your only 19 and they wont insure you on a 2.0 16v gti......find another insurance company. I had my Ibiza Cupra 1.8T remapped, lowered etc etc when I was 19 and it was under £1500 fully comp. Find a decent insurance company and you'll be fine
