Sounds like a very nice car I have seen one just like your spec on the road and looked very nice indeed. Just the long wait for delivery now!!

Did you go down the scrappage route in the end and which dealer did you use?

aye sadly scrapping the audi i have now, but hey ho thats the way it goes. the audi would be doing well to bring in £3k privately and less as p/x obviously.

the dealer is Jennings Seat in Middlesbrough. the best deal i could get really. and id tried letchworth - good deal but still £14/m more expensive and a long drive to collect it
M1Autos - difficult comm's and never really did get a firm final quote, plus they wouldnt do the rear bumper or k1 backbox?!?! strange
Bristol street motors in darlington - offered a middlesbrough beating deal then when i pushed him to confirm it he never rang me back! wierd.

ive actually found it hard to get dealers to come back to me, i thought they'd be busting to sell a car...seems not.

but ultimatly im very happy.

seat in boro took delivery of a 59 plate FR 170 tdi CR manual this week in candy white, i went for a wee spin in today and its very nice. cant wait now for my dsg version.

build week 11 is the latest guess...add 4-5 weeks to that for delivery to boro and kit fitting and its mine!

happy days

Shame about the long wait but will be worth it...and finally we get to see an owners review of an FR TDi DSG...

Maybe its due to the limited profit in the deal? M1 auto's seem to be up and down on the comms side, for me they cold have not been better and have had regualr updates and gor the orginal quote in 10mins. But then I suppose it is down to individual sales people. Very strange on the bumper front maybe local knowledge issue. But glad you find a dealer that would help and do a deal!! Happy waiting

:-o :wtf:

Seat have probably had to add a few little extra touches to the Boc just to justify the price hike over the Cupra...so don't let what is essentially a minor cosmetic upgrade influence your decision on choosing DSG in the Leon...the standard plastic paddles are solid and work well...

I wouldn't underestimate the levels of discount received by users on this forum at M1 Autos.
Many of us here have trekked the length and breadth of the Country to collect a new SEAT from Kingsbury. Your 5-6% estimate is way off going off my recent quote..

And there was me thinking London was more expensive..

:funk:

Haha.! I think not.! However I know that some dealers (including us from time to time) use 'back door money' to fund extra discount. Been a dealer I'd say Ive got a fair idea of what Seat offers thankx. I do occasionally under cuts other dealers. The strange thing with discounts at the moment is that Seat have made it difficult for dealers to get new cars.

I know Charlie (owner of M1) and I am quite aware of how he/they work. However, your right, they are top chaps there.! We trade stock occasionally for one reason or another and its always is a pleasure.

However with nearly new Seat 'high performance cars' we will 90% of the time be the cheapest in the country and have the best choice.!

Regarding the paddles... I gotta be honest they aren't quite so cool as the Boc. However they feel really solid and good quality. I wouldnt worry about the paddles, the car drives great.

Drove past lookers seat in Stockport today and saw an orange leon in the window. Guess it was an FR but can't be sure. Couldn't make out which black wheels they were. Fancy calling in to see it!
