erm...i just picked the standard car, which the dealer tells me gets delivered to him in factory spec. this dealer then buysin the K1 kit and fits it.
as for teh wheels i simply picked them in the pricelist...and it is black pavonis £275 option as oppose to black orions at £510 option.

dont see why i cant have them.

I think you will find that price for black Pavonis wheels is for the Cupra when upgrading from the standard silver wheels, hence why they sem cheap.

hey im not sure...i have the leon pricelist in front of me, taken from the dealer and they didnt seem to see any problems with what i wanted...that said they say 'not available' in the list against FR options...
id have to question it with them to be honest. see if the can put it through....
its all new to me this 'speccing up a car' lark.

Hey chaps.!

M1 Autos are alright actually. I deal with the owner from time to time and everything has always gone well. As for the £2k off that unfortunately isn't very realistic now as dealer margin is Max 7% on those therefore you would get a 5-6% discount at the most.!

Best of luck.!

I wouldn't underestimate the levels of discount received by users on this forum at M1 Autos.
Many of us here have trekked the length and breadth of the Country to collect a new SEAT from Kingsbury. Your 5-6% estimate is way off going off my recent quote..

And there was me thinking London was more expensive..

by the way guys, whats the impact on insurance likely to be with me adding the K1 kit? is it bad?

I got charged £8 which would be about £14 a year. They were only bothered about the skirts and boot spoiler because the front bumper was a replacment not an addition (standard rear bumper). They also included the rear parking sensors on this.

as fo rthe vanes/lines or open/meshed style cutouts in the K1 kit, i dont know which one i'll end up with. i presume the open/mesh style is teh newer style to the vanes/lines style thats been around several years now.
im guessing id get this setup
http://www.zercustoms.com/news/images/Seat/2008-SEAT-Leon-K1-Blue-5.jpg

The FL FR TDi I saw with the kit on had the Vanes and I have seen another one since an again has the vanes not the mesh. So I am pretty certain it will be the Vanes you will get if you order the kit. K1 was the only model to get the mesh.

Nope the FL K1 kit still has the vanes or the FL FR with the K1 kit on did and looked no different from the Pre FL Kit. Onlt the K1 Cupra came with the Mesh intakes as far as I have seen??????

I asked hot hatch Steve the question: 'In what way is the FL FR front aero bumper kit different from the pre FL one?

And in contrast with yourself Jezy, he thinks:-

HotHatchSteve said:
The side intakes do have the honeycomb (changed before the facelift) grill, but if you have the aero bumper you can not have the new honeycomb grill, it don't fit. You either haveto have the old type eith black surround or if you want the honeycomb you can have the Leon Linea R with chrome surround. The new Facelift FR abd Cupra grills are not has tall.

Obviously I haven't go a clue so now I'm doubly confused!

jezyg has got it mixed up. The K1s first came with Vanes (or whatever they are called).

See this Link,

One of the first K1 pictures.

and this Link,

One of the first facelifted bodykit pics.

The mesh style was introduced before the Facelift Leon though so some later K1s will have them plus if someone fitted an early aero kit to a FR etc they could have the vanes.

Hope this clears it up.

as expected, i called my current insurance co. ****** for a quote ona 170 CR FR DSG with K1 Kit added and they want silly money. or at least i think its silly money.

ive been quoted £500-550.
it seems an awful lot of money for a diesel leon thats a warm hatch not a hot hatch...if you see where im coming from.

any advice on best insurance for a leon with k1 kit added woudl be appreciated.
your policy was barely loaded up for adding the kit....who's that with?

just for info the current A6 avant is £308 /year and me and my wife are good clean drivers with many years ncb...

hell i had a quote recently for a new ford Focus RS and that came back under £400...

Ive just ordered a new Leon FR tdi for end of March delivery. I'm having it Luna Grey and the only extras are bluetooth and 18" wheels.

My current car is also a Leon FR tdi in black but with no extras. I've had my Leon FR for nearly 3 years now and love it - that's why I'm having another!
What are the main differences, if any, that i will notice with my new car from my 2007 model?

The FL FR TDI will feel different in many ways. The engine is smoother, quieter, and more economical. The electronic diff lock is a big improvement in handling the torque on damp/wet roads. The suspension is softer and in my opinion this makes the car more pleasant to drive as it handles mid corner bumps better and is generally a smoother ride. The only thing I dislike was the plastic bottom to the cut off steering wheel. The new Ibiza Cupra's etc have the same flat bottom but leather all round. The only option for the wheel I can find is to have the plastic black but this wheel has a black plastic area at the top also. I will probably get used to it.
Hope this helps

I'm with Esure at the moment and for my Cupra it works out about £400 a year. I know some insurers dont like adding extras and charge silly money.
