Throttle Body adaption????

HI

When I have the door closed, bonnet closed and turn the ignition to where you would for the throttle body alignment (wife inside and me on the outside listening), I can hear the noise/whinning you do when the throttle body is aligning. Does this sound right and what would happen if i turn the ignition before the alignment has completed? Any suggested cause for this and fix welcomed. No Vag com available unless someone in the south wales area is able to read it for me ;) .

Are you sure that it is not the fuel pump priming the fuel system?

well if its tb alignment, open drivers door and bonnet turn ignition on but do not start car up and you will hear clicks inside engine bay when these stop start car and close bonnet

Thanks for all the comments. I think the fuel pump starts to prime when you open the drivers door. when sat in the car with the ignition switched so all the lights are on the dash there is a beep/whinning noise for around 1min, same noise i get when i perform a throttle body alignment.

I have noticed if i let the noise end then start the car the rev's are alot steadier and the running of the car is smoother. Sounds like it might be a trip to the garage.
