Ticking 2011 TDI CR

My 2011 FR (6k on clock) does the exact same thing, been wondering about it for a few weeks....as said above, only notice it with the windows down and music really low...as long as it's normal! Might get them to have a look at it when it goes in for service at 10k

I think mine does the same, i never got it checked out as i thought it was normal from the cr engine, just to check, i don't hear it if I'm idling, only when moving forward and with the windows down.
Car is on about 12k miles

Yeah mines 3 months old and 6k on the clock.....will get it looked at when it goes in for it service within the next couple of months!
so have any of you guys done any mods to yours? not sure what you can do to a diesel?!

Mines a company motor so im pretty restricted on the mod front, have been thinking about what subtle things i could get away with but not sure yet to be honest!

The most i've done is change the DRL's so they match the Xenons!

You got any plans for yours?

im in the process of gettin some HIDs for it........also enquired about a revo remap and milltek exhaust.....just not sure what it would sound like :S !!

This ticking noise is normal... its the solonoid for the fuel system and comes from that canister with the fuel lines going in / out of it. I noticed it with my CR when i first got it, bugged the hell out of me to start with so asked at the dealers who said it was normal then asked here and got the explanation.

The PD diesel has the same canister but doesnt tick... apparently this is due to a lower pressure solonoid used for the different fuel system.

Not sure if a Miltek would change the sound at all on a diesel, might help performance though....

By all accounts its a cheaper alternative to the likes of Miltek and offers the same gains / noise
