Hey guys and gals!

Currently saving up for a Timing Belt and Water Pump change, been quoted £350 at Midlands VW, main question I have is concerning the actual Water Pump.

Like the MK1, does it have an uprated water pump? Like the metal propellers or not? If there is an uprated pump would I need to make it clear to them to make sure I have this uprated pump?

How many here have had a service like this done at Midlands VW before? I had my last Leon there for a dyno test and they seemed really lovely, just would like some more input for when I take the car in for peace of mind with timing belt as looking through the service log it's not had a change at all and it's currently at 71k miles!

Thanks in advance!

I would imagine they will fit the latest revision part for the water pump. £350 is a good price, I think it cost me £380 at the local dealers but that included the aux belt too.

Thanks richicupra for the quick reply, much appreciated! :)

All that's needed now is to save the money and have piece of mind, as I was looking at a few posts concerning when the servicing of timing belts should be done and mines definitely passed the mark! 71k miles and not changed for a 10 plate (so 5 or almost 6 years?), according the thread I read it was 4 years and either 60k or 120k miles. I think the PD was for 60k and a couple of people stated the CR engine isn't needed as early given the miles?

All in all though I gathered it's not so much about the mileage but more about getting it done at the given year set interval?

Again, thanks for the reply matey! :)
