Hi Guys,

Bought my Cupra R just over a week ago and I love it! It's an 2006 Mk1 Platinum Grey Cupra R, I seem to spend most of my time now reading this forum for idea's on different mods I can do, I think I have an addiction, do we have a 'SeatCupra's anonymous' on here???

Any how some advice if you will, initially I have a few items to purchase like tyres, front brake discs and pads, rear pads, a forge 007p.

Tyres: AVON ZZ3 (Camskill)
Brake Disc's: EBC Plain (Badger Bill)
Front Pads: Ferodo DS2500 (Badger Bill)
Rear Pads: OE (Badger Bill)
DV: Forge 007p (Badger Bill)
Induction Kit: i'm so confused?? there are 1 million different posts on this forum about what to use and then another million posts to not use that induction kit, can someone give me some options, I want the engine to sound a little throatier and to be able to hear the DV, advice please, I have searched and am no closer to making a decision!

There are tons more things that I will be buying, but for now this, plus getting the Wheels refurbed and sprayed Black will probably be about it this side of Christmas - unless I don't get the kids any pressies - hmmm?

Thanks in advance guys.
Tim.

Firstly welcome to the site Tim, good start too as you look like you've used the search function before you asked questions.

Looks like you've got most things covered... regarding the induction kit, you have two main options. Firstly you could modify the standard air box below for details. This will offer you a decent noise increase especially when paired with a Forge 007p, you can enhance it further by added a cold air feed. This is a very cost effective way of getting more noise, the standard air box is hard to better due to its good design.

Then you have the Jetex induction kit option, this is widely regarded to be the best induction for the LCR, its relatively cheap too. This will give more noise than the above option, the 007P will be quite loud in this set up. I currently have a modified air box and im looking to upgrade to this at some point soon as result of the following thread...

http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=242751&highlight=JETEX

If you plan on doing some work then why dont you start a thread in readers rides... any more questions fire away! :)

hi tim and welcome. performance wise with a modded air box and jetex cone they are pretty much the same. but what you get with the jetex cone is a lot more noise, its a great combo with forge 007. also you can do your first mod for free. remove your bonnet lining, when its removed you are left with more noise and less heat soak. i will also recommend the n249 bypass, all you need for this is a small hose joiner from halfords. hope thats some help for you. enjoy your car.

Hey all thanks for the replys, I'm probably gonna go with a Panel filter and modded Air box for now, see how that sounds and then if it's not enough go with the jetex, so next question shall I get a Green panel Filter or other?

I was looking at the guide posted on here about the N249 bypass and seems an easy mod to do so shall get that one done soon.

I could go on for hours about the mods I want to do, and start writing away but don't want to bore anyone to early!

Cheers guys
Tim.

Sam, thanks for the offer, it was a little subtle I almost didn't pick up on that one ;-)

I think I'm gonna go with the Green Panel one and have a bit of fun messing around with my air box, buying yours would just seem like cheating!

I'm after a spare 18" Cupra Alloy though if you have one!

Sam, I'm having my alloys refurbed next month and sprayed black let me know though if you do get rid of it!

Thanks D.K. I did come across that one on my many search's on the forum, I have read about the oil and causing potential problems with the MAF? Is that the reason to wash it Wayne? (stupid question I know but just to confirm?)

Was thinking of buying the Fabia rear wiper kit, my rear wiper is a waste of time, front wipers need replacing as well though, so much too do, think i'll concentrate on things I have mentioned above.
