thats what i thought as well jason hence going for the metal tip but its on the inlet bit of the turbo which doesnt get as hot as the exhaust if i remember what hayden said rightly but ill prob be corrected!! again!!
it fits straight onto it with a jubilee clip, which also worried me as the metal tip has a slot for the OE pipe with a clip to hold it in place!!

now is it me or has anyone else thought.silicone hose onto fecking hot turbo is not a good idea.does the samco fit directly onto the turbo?how come it don't go all melty?

yep straight onto the inlet of the turbo!

samco/sfs are a very reputable company (hence why forge will only use their hoses in their kits... intercollers etc)

also jason, the standard k04 TIP is just rubber... so if SEAT/VW/audi think its ok im sure an uprated much stronger bit of rubber will be fine! ;)

the intake side is cold as its sucking cold air in, then theres a few inches of metal and bits before you get to the hotter side.

cheers for clearing that up.might get one soon, well asoon as the bank balance takes an upward trajectory after lasts months suspension/cambelt shenanigans

theres how the little bugger connects on too btw. long flat screw driver helps get this tight.

james it wont pop off as its virtually being sucked onto the turbo. needs to be tight all the same.

agreed but i did mine as tight as the high torque clamp would safely go!

i know a few peeps who have had theres pop off! (whether this was down to crap jubilee clamps or simply being too loose i dont know!)

cold...has anyone ever touched the inlet of the turbo after running...it wont be cold im sure!!!!

dont the reinforced hoses contain nomex material? (flame proof)
